Some interesting stuff I found discussed on Reddit about Florida's testing

Basically, there's no accurate data for how many unique people tested. The UFC part sums it up. 1200 tests provided for 200 people. Three positives are entered, but also 1197 negative (instead of 197). So if someone just looked at that, they might think 3 people tested positive out of 1200, making the positive rate look very low, but it's not really painting an accurate picture. Again, I have no idea if this is a problem everywhere where testing is done,

CVS is rolling out their drive-thru testing areas here finally. Walgreens is supposed to soon, but they're not as well set up as the CVS Minute Clinics. |

It only affects is the percentage of positive tests per person, not total cases. Since a person can be tested many times, the ratios I posted are actually higher. But it really doesn't matter since they could be higher for April as well and I was just showing how much testing capacity has increased.

As I posted earlier, Florida's testing increased almost exactly the national average, while the drop in cases was likewise essentially in line with the U.S. average. So I don't really see the point here, except that people can be tested more than once.

So much for social distancing. My train from Jersey was suspended because a drawbridge was malfunctioning so I was forced onto another train and then I had to take a city bus. The bus was standing-room only. Everybody had a mask on except some old guy in front who decided to throw up, forcing an evacuation 5 minutes after I boarded. Had to walk the rest of the way. With the city officially reopening on Monday, I don't know how the hell they plan on enforcing distancing guidelines on mass transit. The MTA system is a complete joke.

are you planning on getting tested every 2 weeks? youd only show positive (asymptomatic) if you were currently infected... |

So apparently my parents are having 7 of their grandkids and who knows how many of those kids' parents over today to celebrate my moron 8 year old niece's birthday. Guys you whine and whine and whine incessantly about CO-VID 19 safe practices. Having an unnecessary birthday party at your house with unnecessary guests is not CO-VID 19 safe, especially for both of you since you're both 67+ and have multiple health conditions. I'd say my parents and my sister are shining examples of people who talk the talk when it comes to following the rules but when push comes to shove they're more likely to just do whatever they want.

Yeah I know, just annoyed by some people acting like they're poster children for how to follow these rules and they definitely break more of them than I do.
Another example would be both of my parents going over to my sister's house on almost a daily basis. Guys, no. Once or twice a week would probably be fine but 5-7+ times a week? Nope. Not essential. |

It doesn't matter...these riots have essentially smashed open the bottle, and the Genie is out, for better or worse (probably worse). No one's going to put up with social distancing anymore with footage of seas of protestors flooding the streets of most major cities. Right or wrong, people have HAD IT at this point, and the riots are going to be used as an excuse for people to just go out and mingle, and damn the consequences.
