"I could hear through the door that he was still breathing, and I fell asleep," she said. She checked in on him again at 2 a.m, and all seemed OK. However, when she woke at 6 a.m., she found her 30-year-old husband lifeless in their bed."

New Cases PEAKED precisely as I predicted....

Next step is peaking hospitalizations (which may already be on the verge of occurring this week) and then deaths will peak shortly thereafter.

We’re slowly but surely crossing to the other side of the peak but most will not realize it until weeks after.

You heard it here, first!

Freakyguy, being right about something related to the coronavirus doesn't seem like something that should be celebrated. Seems...disrespectful somehow.

Stating a fact is celebrating?

Establishing prior accuracy is how you gain credibility.

Well mostly break-ins down....everyone's home, and no one wants to get the virus from the residents.

Sorry, I got a bit nostalgic here.

With these new reduced shopping hours, it reminds me of when I was a child in the 80s and early 90s. We got a Wal-Mart Discount City store in Victoria, TX in 1980. In March 1994 it closed and was replaced with a Wal*Mart Supercenter just a little further down the highway. The Wal*Mart Supercenter has always been 24 hours, but the Wal-Mart discount store was open from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm Monday-Saturday and 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm Sunday (Just 6 hours on Sunday!). That seems unfathomable now (or at least it did until this virus) because of 24 hour Supercenters, but in the 80s and early 90s that's how it was for much of the country.

Here's exactly how our Wal-Mart Discount City looked in Victoria, TX. (1980-1994) (Hobby Lobby now occupies this building) (These aren't the actual photos, but very close examples.)

Here's what the sign looked like.

And in March 1994, this is what our Wal*Mart Supercenter looked like.

About 70 people in their 20s chartered a plane from Texas to Mexico for spring break -- against official advice asking people to avoid nonessential air travel and gathering in large groups.

Now over 40 of those people have tested positive for coronavirus. Source

Billionaire Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai donates ventilators and masks to New York

Quote:
New York (CNN Business)Joe Tsai, the billionaire co-founder of Chinese ecommerce giant Alibaba, and his wife Clara Wu Tsai, have donated 2.6 million masks, 170,000 goggles and 2000 ventilators to New York — the US epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.

The supplies were split into two shipments. The first arrived on Thursday at Newark Liberty International Airport, while the second arrived on Saturday at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

U.S. Is Nowhere Close to Reopening the Economy, Experts Say

Quote:
It is still very early in the U.S. effort to snuff a lethal pandemic by shutting down much of the economy. But there is a growing question — from workers, the White House, corporate boardrooms and small businesses on the brink — that hangs over what is essentially a war effort against a virus that has already killed more than 9,000 Americans.

One day means nothing.
Also, even if this goes down now, it doesn't mean the virus is going to go away.

And celebrating this is in extremely bad taste. And extremely naive.
