Oh, there will be plenty of lawsuits going around. I know here in Wisconsin, there's been a few after last week's insanity, and if anyone should die from that stuff, more and more will be filled.

It's kind of why I'm puzzled that so many people want the economy to open right back up so fast....businesses will just be opening themselves to more and more lawsuits. And I'd think it's gonna be slam dunk cases.

You open everything back up again too early, its gonna make things even worse.

I think your comment is why America is gonna get way worse over the summer. Too many people thinking about $$$$$$$$$$$, less about our collective safety and people's lives.

Putting aside the politics and more in the context of the health implications, the images coming out of Michigan, being broadcast to the entire world are alarming.

Meanwhile in the UK, our new national sport has become watching 99 year old Captain Tom walking lengths of his large garden to drum up much needed cash for our health service.

He finished his 100th length this morning and, in keeping with the bizarre times in which we are currently living, he was then promptly serenaded with a rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone by Michael Ball live on the news.

Well, guess I'm getting a check in 8 weeks with Trump's name on it (that part I don't actually mind, kinda funny imo).

Apparently anyone who gets technical error 109 was someone who was a zero filer (reddit link) (2018 and 2019 taxes filed but with no refund nor no tax owed) and the system doesn't know how to process it for direct deposit.

I'm sure this is comeuppance for posting Tiger King coronavirus memes.

No. It's a gift from the government, non-taxable. It is not classified as income.

You can add your direct deposit info which will shorten your timeframe:

Michigan is #4 for total cases and #3 for total deaths. So the governor had to do something to flatten the curve. But whoever wrote the new mandates did a terrible job of describing them so the populace has misinterpreted them thinking they are worse then they really are. Stuck inside for weeks, the "pot boiled over."

When I submitted the direct deposit info along with the 2019 tax return information it throws that 109 error and doesn't let me continue, stops, and doesn't let me do anything else.

I'll wait until the reddit people with the same situation start having success. Some resubmitted the form 7 times and then got locked out...

AFAIK, Today was the first day it went operational. There have definitely been some issues:

IRS's coronavirus stimulus check-tracking tool is not working for many

Stimulus checks are going out to people who have died.

Things seem very confrontational in here tonight. Like arguing just for the sake of it. I love how some in here think they have all the answers and nobody's else's opinions count.

Well thank god for that!

I remember reading that the first draft was supposed to be a loan of sorts.... I was going all "WTF, crisis mode going all over the world and you still expect us to owe you?!??"

Someone was telling me the actual checks that get sent out have Donald Trump's signature on them, which strikes me as strange considering you always have the guy in charge of the treasury signing them.

It is an advance against your 2020 tax return. We'll all have to pay it back next year.
