In other news, apparently reports of poisoning, and ingesting disinfectants are up around the country. NYC poison control received more than double the amount of calls over the last 18 hours compared to the same time last year ..

Calls to poison control spike in Maryland
I think if anybody suggested I should drink disinfectant, no matter who it was I would not do it, I think this says more about the stupidity of people, rather than the advice.

And quite a few are donating and helping out. Matthew McConaughey donated thousands of masks and played bingo with elderly folk. Yeah there’s a few who are spoiled brats but I think it’s unfair to condemn all celebs

Which to be honest I don't think anybody does, there will be genuine celebrities out there of course.

Movies really are realistic about how stupid people are in a crisis.

Get with the times, people!

I see a lot of people saying they're depositing their stimulus money into a Savings account. I have one but I can easily move money in and out of one so what's the point? I need an account where I can't easily move money out of, otherwise I'm always going to be tempted to take money out.
Well, I personally am not gonna just sit on it forever. I will spend it on reducing my debt, just at a time when everything is a tad more stable you know? Just in case.

I mean, both my jobs are still forcing me to work and FedEx has no reached the point where we simply cannot keep up anymore...expect delays people...my day job is back up to 9 hour days, so this whole shut down hasn't changed my life much at all. So it still feels quite normal to me besides crazy low gas prices and only watching movies at home. I'm a drive thru guy 99.9% of the time anyways.

Besides, my 'savings' account is a joke. I set it up after a few years at FedEx, where I would try to put most of my checks from them into savings, my main job in my checking...but I lost that job, and ever since FedEx has kind of become my spending money, so my savings account is just as broke as my checking half the time.

I was gonna quite FedEx right after I paid off my student loan in Feb, but I have my cheap health care thru them, and right now doesn't seem like a good time to go 6-7 months without heathcare….once again, just in case.

And yet, people still trust and listen to people dumb enough to tell them to do it.

I had like 6 cases of Bleach come through FedEx last night, all going to Home delivery, actual homes, and I was like....these six people are gonna be introduced to Darwin.

I was always under the impression that most people learned by the age of 10 that bleach is poisonous to the human body.

You could tell some people to jump into a fire, and they would do it.

The one I wore last week was a nightmare (dust mask).
Many stores had them back in early March. Hand sanitizers were the first to sell out but stores still had plenty of face masks in stock. If people didn’t prepare themselves and buy them during that time, we’ll then that was foolish!

Well my girlfriend was able to put her direct deposit info in this morning on the "get my payment" page. It may have just been updated last night, or maybe it's because today we tried with the dashes in the social security number.

But mine still isn't working, either because of the wrong address format (not sure how to enter apartment #) or because I qualified as a non-filer but filed anyways by mail, screwing myself in the process since they're not processing paper returns currently.

Also, one confusing bit when adding in the direct deposit info - it says the following when updating your direct deposit info:

"Please enter the following information from your 2019 tax return (filed in 2020) if you already filed. If you have not filed your 2019 tax return or it has not been processed, please use the information from your 2018 tax return (filed in 2019)."

Lol, how are we supposed to know if the 2019 tax return has been processed or not yet? It was sent by mail in April, so we assumed it had not been processed, so she entered her info from her 2018 return. You have to enter your adjusted gross income and amount you paid or owed. They put zero thought into cases like people mailing them in - there's just no way of knowing if it's been processed until you get your refund or the payment is taken out of your account if you owe.

Horrible system.

I swear this sounds like something from Mike Judge’s Idiocracy. Next people will be watering their plants with sports drinks.

As I pointed out, some people are required to mail in their returns, like me. I have no idea why, but that's the government for you.

I agree direct deposit is the way to go. That's why my girlfriend entered hers in today. I can't because I can't get into the system to update the info.

Neither of those can be true as I received mine in the mail on Wednesday, and I have never done direct deposit.

All the Direct Deposit payments haven't been sent out yet. They're doing them in waves. I'm pissed because I filed with TurboTax the past 5 years and I still had to enter my info because they didn't have it. I believe they were supposed to have your direct deposit on file.

Good news is I actually received some supposed reusable n95 mask's I bought back at the end of February, though the site was rather sketchy looking but no fraudulent activity on my card, only what they charged for the mask.

They are called oxy breath. they are a reusable type material that can be cleaned and have the respirator with adjustment valve. I received them today but I cant say I'm comfortable opening them and using just yet, seeing as I thought they might of, come from China. I have quarantined them to my garage and have dosed the outer package in Lysol for now, ill let them sit for a few days but I think they have been in the shipping process for a good month now.

Not sure of their effectiveness but I can sure as hell bet they are better then surgical or a home made mask right now so I'm kind of happy to get them. I tried the cutting the shirt method and it was absolutely terrible to try and use going shopping.
