In the post I quoted, it specifically mentioned only going out for essential trips. I make a valid comment and then you come on with an absolutely ridiculous comment mentioning essential workers and pointing out that they can't stay home. Why is it ridiculous...because that was already covered in the original post. Nothing aggressive, just truthful.

I guess gates70 said it all, above.
Really, I think the best thing to say is nothing at all. These posts are most likely here just to get a reaction. If people stop feeding into it, there will be no satisfaction gained from the posts and they'll stop. In the field that I work in there's a saying. "There's no such thing as bad attention." It's very true.

I have to correct you. You say if everyone COULD do that. The correct terminology is if everyone would do that. Everyone is capable of staying home. They're making the choice not to.
You didn't mention essential workers. You said everyone. Thus my post. No big deal. Just a misunderstanding I guess.

Why do we live in a world where whole milk powder is a thing?

Why not? It's a shelf stable product that's ideal for times like this. When rehydrated some taste just as good, if not better than the milk you can buy in stores.

Why does it feel like you’re another one of the posters who’s constantly spamming posts hoping to get a reply?

Not quite, I do post a lot but I do try to minimize my posts to when I actually have something to say.

Sounds like the governor is getting a bit hesitant about re-opening New Mexico just yet. Really hope she sticks to mid-May but people aren't social distancing so I wouldn't be surprised if she waits for June.

Oh, didn't realize it was the whole milk aspect that you had a problem with. They do make skim milk powder too, but probably not sold as widely ad whole milk ones.

Edit: just noticed it's not 2%. Not sure if they make one specifically for that.

According to our governor, shopping malls can reopen this Thursday, as long as social distancing are enforced.

I can't see social distancing working in a shopping mall, we can't even get people to do it at Wal-Marts.

I may have to force myself to start getting used to that. The thing is I need milk for my cereal every morning and milk is the one grocery product that I need to frequently buy because you can’t bulk buy it because they expire so quickly, or they go bad before their expiration date.

It appears that it was a misunderstanding. Just a friendly suggestion for future interactions to avoid this in the future. If the post you are responding to is a response to a quoted post, read the whole thing before responding. Had you done that in this case, you wouldn't have responded and this would have been avoided.

I really wonder if churches are going to ever reopen. I can’t imagine churches ever being safe to open until this virus fully dissipates, which will be a long time. The thing is, churches can get crowded and also, the distribution of communion is very dangerous at a time like this. I feel like churches are going to be in big financial trouble due to being closed for so long and may not ever be able to open again...

I'm not sure if you know this but you can freeze milk to avoid having to go out to buy it as frequently. My mom used to do it all the time. She'd stock up if it went on sale and it tasted fine. Do a Google search for more info if you're interested.

Can confirm. I've done this even before the pandemic.

The male patient from France was initially treated for pneumonia at a hospital in Paris. It turns out that the doctor who was treating him had said, via an interview, to local French media on Sunday that he had discovered traces of the virus in the man's frozen lab samples. This type of discovery makes it very much likely that Covid-19 was spreading around in Europe before it first hit Asia.

It also raises fears that a 2nd wave of the virus could hit Europe once again very soon.

https://www.rte.ie/news/coronavirus/...avirus-europe/

With Europe trying to wind down it's restrictions of the virus for the past while. This type of news does come as a huge blow in trying to mitigate the virus. Although we do not know yet how severe the so-called 2nd wave of Covid-19 is until the spread of the virus is officially beginning to increase in huge numbers once again within our health services across the continent & for the rest of the world. Health authorities in other countries, including the WHO, now have to take stock of this news by investigating how this virus had occurred in France exactly 1 month before it had made it's destructive impact in China.
It's probable that the virus was circulating in China much earlier than reported. This article has more info which potentially explains how he and his children got the virus.

https://www.france24.com/en/20200505...as-in-december

Quote:
"He was sick for 15 days and infected his two children, but not his wife, who works in a supermarket.

"He was amazed, he didn't understand how he had been infected. We put the puzzle together and he had not made any trips. The only contact that he had was with his wife."

The man's wife worked alongside a Sushi stand, close to colleagues of Chinese origin, Cohen said. It was not clear whether those colleagues had travelled to China, and the local health authority should investigate, he said.

"We're wondering whether she was asymptomatic," he said.
