In fact, things are going so well in the Bay Area that San Mateo county is breaking off from the Bay Area shutdown and going to stage 2 reopening with the rest of the state. Hopefully my county (Marin) will do the same. Not fair to keep these businesses closed while the big box stores cash in on their misfortune.

Good for SF, that's awesome! The people of this country can't afford this shutdown much longer...irreparable harm is being done to the economy. Hospitals are on the verge of bankruptcy...just think about how scary that is. Doctors are being furloughed, people need life saving surgeries and have to wait so hospitals can take care of the ever declining number of Covid-19 related admittances.

As much as everyone else posts the same things. Actually, I post a lot less than a lot of people here, and what I post is new data that gets better each and every day. Also, I post what I hear and see every day also. We consume different media apparently...which is cool. Different viewpoints are a wonderful thing.

I also think it's time to re-open things to some degree. Some new protocols will have to remain in place, also higher density areas will have to re-open more slowly than places like New Mexico.

Got a phone call right around 4 today about the $1500 I'm getting from the university to help me with my finances during this crisis. Kinda makes it feel like NMSU is scrambling to keep people enrolled as a bunch of students are probably fleeing due to the pandemic.

I was right. At first it sounded like the governor was re-opening dine-in at restaurants but now it says that is excluded. Best guess is restaurants will re-open June 1st, sounds like she doesn't believe testing is where it needs to be to re-open high intensity contact services like malls, gyms, dine-in restaurants and movie theatres.

Yeah I think that June we'll see limited dine-in and hair salons open in many states. Gyms and movie theaters hopefully, but maybe another month for those.
