But at least they are still running.

My area has quite a few homeless folks, many most likely have zero idea what's going on, a lot of them will probably pass away from this.

Our winter here has been an extremely mild one.
Colder temps might have help kill off some of this virus, but I am no scientist.

Could you imagine if it had peaked in hurricane season!

There's just not the health and economic things to be worried about, but mental issues that could arise from this such as suicides, etc...
It thrives in the cold, in fact warmer temps seems to knock it back. That's why many think we'll have a false sense of security during the summer when it seems like it's under Co trol just to come back with a vengeance in the fall and winter months.

hey guys, I have a flu shot! And I'm in a house full of food, toilet paper, drinks, and stuff to last 6 months. I went to work sick with flu (2018), but they didn't lay me off then. Pesky employer laid me off while coronavirus was going on. They probably hired someone 10 years younger. So its coronavirus+ageism. I lived in Wisconsin of all places where ADEA starts at 40. Moved to Minnesota, and no really missing Wisconsin. My family cut me off because they're disgusting.

It’s really difficult to predict just what we’re in for and how long it will last. You can buy into the whole “warmer climate” will slow the spread etc. It gives me a little piece of mind though....I am supposed to go to Miami in May for a cruise. I expect it to be canceled but for now, I’m seeing what happens as I can change my cruise date up to 24 hours before I embark.

Dr. Fauci has said this could last for 8 weeks in terms of our everyday schedules being impacted. He also said it’s going to get worse...

If anything positive comes out of this is that people will be practicing better hygiene from here on out, hopefully.

I don't know it seems to be mixed. I've been out in public seeing people just openly cough and not try to cover it at all. I also had a co-worker who was out all week because she didn't feel good but she wanted to come back and never went to the doctor. She went to the doctor because my employer wouldn't let her come back until she did and was coughing right into her hand multiple times yesterday.

Been nice chatting, signing off for today.
Gonna pop my Ultimate Sinatra cd in the player and just finish the rest day.
Listening to some quality music always lifts my spirit.
Might spin my Van Morrison best of cd after Ol' Blue Eyes finishes.

Stay safe everyone.

A lot of people are still not during this so that is very optimistic Optimistically it would also be a wake up call for China to change their ways and not have to deal with some other new strain of something in a few years but I'm sure hoping for that is a lost cause. Realistically one week after this blows over somebody will be making a new 2 girls 1 cup. People just can't stop being nasty.

Well our mayor here in NYC (which I will keep nameless), predicts it will go on for AT LEAST six months. So if he has psychic abilities, then I expect some of you to have it too.

It mutated when Chinese eat dog meat who were ill from Pantropic canine coronavirus or bat soup or Kangaroo soup.

If this sh*! goes on for six months then I’m really going to need a lot more toilet paper.

My advice, if you still need to buy some food/supplies, stay away from COSTCO. That is where all the panic buyers are going, most other stores will likely still have stock.

I wonder if the virus is already beginning to effect Amazon? There's no 1-2 day delivery near me as of an hour or two ago. Now it's all between Tuesday and Thursday for most items.

In the Los Angeles metro'ish area, my local Kroger (Ralph's) was nearly completely depleted of anything good. Fresh produce for the most part except apples and oranges and some other produce: gone. Meat, milk, paper goods, water, rice, prepared rice boxes, pasta: all completely gone.

Plenty of bakery goods, ice cream, chips, and cookies (except for regular Oreos).

I believe that if the zombie apoc were to hit, the LA area would be the first to be full of walkers.

Due to SARS CoV-2 (coronavirus) being a new-to-humans virus, it really can’t be predicted with certainty, even with a high level of confidence at this time. Only educated guesses can be made based upon previous experience with other respiratory viruses like influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, etc. it appears these are dependent upon seasonality, likely temperature and/or humidity. Plus, lab data with other corona viruses, indicating less viability at higher temperatures and humidity - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...l#post17393293

Some are predicting/hoping that it completely goes away in the summer. But having spoken to a neighborhood friend of mine in I.D. (who b.t.w., years ago did a fellowship at the NIAID with sfmarine’s referenced Dr. Fauci), she believes that given her experience 10 years ago with the Swine Flu outbreak in that there was seasonality with that one too (infections decreased) but infections never abruptly stopped during warmer weather as significant transmission still happened due to people being so susceptible to that virus too (like coronavirus).

So she thinks, as of today 3/14/2020 given what’s known, it’s more likely there may be a reduction in terms of transmission during warmer months rather than complete disappearance of coronavirus. How much reduction?....nobody really knows for sure.
