Really? You're really shocked? I'm shocked that anyone would be shocked by this.

Watch the news. There were restaurants and bars open last night. People were inside. Hell, they were open in my neighborhood yesterday as well.

This is a train that has left the station. Let's see what happens...

I'm shocked that there are THAT many people who are that stupid and lack basic common sense and knowledge. I would think most people were born with brains, so that's why I'm shocked. But I guess I was wrong.

People have been cooped up inside for MONTHS, and you're surprised they've flooded parks on a super-sunny, super-warm weekend?

Yes. Crowding will only lead to more spread of the disease, which will lead to more privileges being revoked.

Yes, because we're in a pandemic and people are dying. All of this happening and all people are worried about is chilling out in the park on a sunny day??? What the hell is wrong with people?

People are stupid. I know that's offensive but pandemics just bring out the stupidity in people. Heat is only going to make it worse.

There's a LOT of people that just don't care. Look at this thread alone.

You just have to get used to it. Protect yourself. Do what you can to protect your family/those you live with and move on. There's no alternative.

I agree 100% with you. But the sad thing is, this is a team effort that everyone should be participating in if we want to get through this. For example, I can be the best basketball player in the world, but if my teammates don't care and don't put any effort in the playing, then regardless of how well I play, my team won't be successful. The same goes for this battle we're going through with this virus. I really wish everyone would take this seriously, but I guess it is what it is and all I can do is just continue to do my part...

Except, in this case, there are people who don't believe in basketball. And there are people who purposely will play any other sport other than basketball just cuz that's how they are.

Default Risk of coronavirus spreading in schools is 'extremely low' study finds

Good news regarding reopening schools this fall. Children for some reason are not very infectious (perhaps because when they do get it then they are asymptomatic and those people don't spread it easily because they have low levels of the virus in their system).

Well and this just might be the runner in me. I think that could be because adults expend more effort when they breathe, so they pull more into and expel more out of their lungs. I would also imagine children are being exposed to others less right now than adults are.

Everyone's all excited about more testing availability, but what are we going to do if people ignore positive tests?

The same thing we're doing right now. Assuming this won't get better until either idiots are forced to comply with shelter in place or there's a vaccine.

We don't know what's going to happen in the fall. Hell, we don't even know what's going to happen here from week to week or day to day.

Not gonna help if the teachers get sick.

Wait and see.
