Support when the pandemic is over. Now is not the time. We still need to take precautions because we are not out of the woods yet. Impossible. You don't know how clean these restaurants are. You don't know if any of the employees at said restaurant are carriers. And you don't know who sat at the table before you did and whether that table was disinfected well enough.

You can try to take precaution, but so much you don't know can still make you very much prone to catching this disease.

If anyone wants to brave going to a dine-in restaurant or go to a movie theater - have at it. It's your life to do what you want. If regulations say wear a mask then do so.

In the last 10 years we have only gone to two restaurants. We went once or twice a week. Both are now closed and may not reopen because they are both buffet style restaurants. If they never reopen then we won't go out to eat. We have gotten used to making dinner at home.

The last movie we went to was FURY ROAD. We are not big movie goers.

We are putting our health and well being above and beyond any inconveniences the Pandemic has thrown our way. We have adapted to the new way of life. Fully entrenched. We wear masks at all times when we are out of the house. We try as much as possible to practice social distancing when we go shopping. We wash our hands each time we come home. We leave the house every other day just to avoid cabin fever.

As my wise old departed mother use to tell me when life threw me a curve ball . . . "And this too shall pass."

I wear a mask to protect you, you wear a mask to protect me, we wear masks to protect each other. Are masks a 100% guarantee against infection? No. Are they much, much more effective than not wearing a mask? Yes. Do I have to wear a mask 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? No. Again, any of us can be infected, asymptomatic & unknowingly spread a highly contagious virus & give it to someone that could &/or will die from it. Any of us can give it to someone else that can then give it to someone else that could &/or will die from it, like an elderly person, a person with a pre-existing condition, a little girl undergoing chemo, a little boy with asthma. Ask yourself; "Do I care about that or do I just care about myself?"

Every time I see someone without a mask I think; "That person seemingly doesn't care about anybody but himself/herself." Masks are readily available to the public now too, so no excuses. The most vulnerable & high risk should be allowed to have some semblance of a life too, they shouldn't have to stay locked up. Wearing a mask helps them move about with some sense of comfort instead of having to uncomfortably arrange their entire life around a bunch of non-maskers. Should we all be living in great, debilitating fear over all of this? No. Should we all be concerned, & should that concern be expressed in our behavior as it pertains to what effect it may have on our fellow man/woman? Yes. I also do my best to physically distance myself from others, & wash my hands more than ever before. My new normal.

I saw an open patio restaurant the other day; that felt a bit strange in these times.
I took food to go from across the street; when the guy gave me back my change he was short of $8.
I told him and he said he was sorry and then gave me back the rest of my change (from a $50 bill).

But yeah no matter where we live what we do is important. This is no joke this COVID-19 pandemic.
For me lives are more important than all the money and gold in the world.
Living free to go and travel the world is now a super luxury of high risk.

@Penton; yeah you need some mooney to buy that 8K big fat screen OLED TV.
If you are looking for places to invest money you have money to buy.
Live for today and not for tomorrow, particularly now.

BTW - it will take at least 12 to 15 months from now to have developed a vaccine and distribute it to the population. No guarantees of being 100% effective either. There isn't a consumer based business on Planet Earth that can withstand doing no business for that length of time. As it is, with the restrictions placed on dine-in restaurants it is estimated that over 50% will permanently close within the next 3 to 5 months.

If you follow the news you see the resistance to another stimulus package. It took four months to go from a thriving economy to the worst Depression the USA has ever seen and like The Great Depression, it will take YEARS before the economy fully recovers.

I'm talking about dining out specifically moreso than wearing a mask. Wearing a mask is useless if people are going to act recklessly with it on. So that's why I "cherry picked" your post. The wearing mask part did not apply to the point I was trying to convey.

If I dine out and get infected because the food was contaminated, someone coughed on me at the restaurant, or the table wasn't properly sterilized, then I go visit mom and dad afterwards and then visit my grandparents over the weekend.... do you see where I'm getting at now?
