I know, not all news is good news, and certainly not this Coronavirus pandemic and certainly not the people refusing to wear masks. Some countries are doing fine on a daily basis, others not so fine.
And we just don't need another pandemic on top of a pandemic. There's none right now (on top), but health scientists are vigilant and working on it ... staying on top. By Jon Cohen - Jun. 29, 2020 , 3:00 PM Quote:

Because they aren't. I posted for the Canadiens reading and posting in this thread, stats. Now you know. I have family blood in Texas, in Florida. Best people in the world. Coronavirus is affecting the entire world, not just Brazil and Mexico. Are you French from France (District 13)? |

I am a South Korean who was raised in America by white people.
That District 13 location is from the fictional world of Panem in the Hunger Games films. I still remember like it was yesterday, so many people thought 2020 was going to be amazing and I just wanted a senior year of college with no bumps. |

Yes it will take some time, but they are working night and day and testing vaccines night and day on people from all over the world, the other fighting team...for us all. |

My ancestors came from France. My roots are European. I live in Canada for over half century, from east to west. It has some great spots, like the USA, but the USA has more variations. And in Canada we have tons of problems, including health issues. That's all. |

I'm not from the mentality that one is better than another.
That COVID-19 link I posted was from a scientific audio blog run by a Canadian from Vancouver and posted by an American. Some of the best audio scientists I know of. Coronavirus was a blog he started, and I was touched by how responsible all people are. That's all. I'm more interested internationally than locally. And no one is superior than anyone. That's my philosophy and always have been. >>>>> * The article (back from april): http://archimago.blogspot.com/2020/0...ality-age.html And one of the comments from which the link came from: Quote:

Sure, it may turn out to be a delicate balancing act decision, but in regards to further/changing funding, I’d like the final assessment made by Dr. Fauci and other non-biased career medical experts from NIH, etc. to be the ultimate decisioner rather than some political appointee from the DHHS who could be much more easily leveraged by pharmaceutical companies or politicians. I think dobyblu and I discussed an aspect of this sort of thing weeks back on this thread, but not with regards to efficacy per se. |

Yeah, I’m not at all concerned about safety profile of the chosen one. Sure, at worldwide launch they may miss some contraindications to the administration of the vaccine, like a history of long term use of this or that medication or some other association to some disease a person could have concurrently, but the risk to the general population will likely be very low, for that matter, much lower than the chance of young people becoming infected and hospitalized for COVID-19 which seems a very acceptable risk these days by lots of folks not following public health guidelines (mask wearing, social distancing, etc.). |

China are about to skip the most important phase of testing vaccine safety and go straight to testing on large groups with their military getting go be guinea pigs so they are very much trying to rush it since they think they can wipe their hands clean of what they caused if they get a vaccine out first. So yes if we see a vaccine even in the next year it will very much be that they are willing to risk it. If we don't see one for a few years there would still be risks since you can't test 10 year side effects or anything like that but at least it would have gone through some longer term trials. Anything before that? Hell no. And yeah we are not talking something big pharma want to profit off of...... https://www.marketwatch.com/story/bi...-it-2020-06-24 ![]() Last edited by Hayabusa85; 06-30-2020 at 05:55 AM. |
