You’re a good man Bob . At least I hope you both don’t have to leave the island and take the ferry over to Vancouver General as that would be an incredibly grueling day. Back here in Burbank –

and as far as our beautiful dedicated nurses go, an overlooked community hit hard by COVID-19: https://abcnews.go.com/US/filipino-n...ry?id=74233831

The capital of British Colombia (Victoria) has hospitals too (on our Island).
No need to take the plane or the speedboat (katamaran) to go on the mainland.
We even have gardens with vegetables @ this time of the year; not one gram of snow flake.

The toughest part is that he cannot eat (only soup, or baby food) and he can't even taste his food! I said to him that perhaps he has the Corporavirus; he replied to me that it's much more worse than COVID-19!

Tomorrow the end of week number four; then three more weeks to go.
Christmas and New Year's celebrations @ the hospital, with beautiful lovely nurses; he doesn't need no stimulus checks...he's all checked in&out and taken good care of.

I use so much hand sanitizer that my hands are a shade whiter than the rest of my arms so I've found a way to avoid slathering my hands every 5 minutes: put on gloves and keep them on all day, then just spray alcohol on the gloves once in a while. Voila!

hey, you should be more grateful as VRBPAC recommended to the FDA approval of the Pfizer vaccine for 16-year old’s.

Is loss of smell always an early symptom or can it be a later one? Want to know how long this person should be quarantined. She had another medical issue at the same time that could of been caused of her dizziness.

Breaking from the New York Times –
“The Food and Drug Administration authorized Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use on Friday, clearing the way for millions of highly vulnerable people to begin receiving the vaccine within days,
according to three people with knowledge of the decision who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it.”

awaiting the Fact Sheet as to the particulars to be posted on FDA's website

There is much evidence for anosmia (loss of smell) as a symptom of acute COVID-19, but I’m not familiar with it presenting as a de nova late sequela to the disease. That said, I would have your friend speak with her ENT doc, or if she has none, then to her primary care doc (who could then consult with one on staff) for guidance.

hardly as - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eopl4lVQkEI#t=6m9s

but we’ve had such continuously bad news (and subsequent personal loses by many) over the past year that I think this is a historic moment to pause and celebrate what scientists and doctors have accomplished for the benefit of all mankind and which offers a glimmer of hope to everyone that this is the beginning of the end to such heavy loses and cases of morbidity

Yeah, I was joking on that point. However, this is still fantastic news and I consider it the beginning of the end, even though it will take time to even reach the end.

CNN - These containers used to ship fresh tuna. Now they'll deliver Covid-19 vaccines

Thought this was an interesting article on the ocean transport logistics side of transporting the Pfizer vaccine. Thermo King had to modify and redesign new container ships to store the vaccine at -70, tuna was transported to Japan at -60 but usually redesigning the ships takes years. As much as people like to criticize Operation Warp Speed, so far its been going pretty well.

I suppose there's a case to be made that the receiving country might not have cold storage needed for the Pfizer vaccine, which might be where the Moderna vaccine comes into play or a cheaper adenovirus-based vaccine does.

a day or two more won' t make a difference. These people need to make sure everything is good. They know their job let them do it.

it is not a matter of being allergic to vaccines.

The first vaccine was infecting people with cowpox so that their body will be better suited to defend itself from smallpox. But that was over 200 years ago.
vaccines today (which is why we have many different ones for Covid-19) are in essence lab built chimeras that are composed of parts that can help ID the virus and parts that hold them together that can't harm us. For example rabies shots have egg-proteins in them so someone with egg allergy can get the same reaction from the vaccine as eating eggs.

But
a) we will need to wait to get more info on these supposed allergic reactions
b) wait to know what allergy is important for the vaccine

to the ^ bolded - https://www.fda.gov/media/144413/download
And as to our prior conversation of a couple days ago – https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...d#post18408603

from the Fact Sheet - “Immunocompromised persons, including individuals receiving immunosuppressant therapy, may have a diminished immune response to the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine.”

ergo, some protection is better than none, such a group should not be excluded from receiving the vaccine and wasn't

and, although not mentioned above ^ , equity includes no “jumping in line” as to receiving bamlanivimab or casirivimab/imdevimab, which are just as, or even more, precious than the vaccine, since they are for already infected COVID-19 individuals

The wife and I just got back from the pub for dinner. They shut everything down tonight at midnight.

Normally we don't eat out - and when we have this year, it was almost always on a patio. So we felt a bit apprehensive, and somewhat hypocritical having tut-tut'd neighbours who went out to eat in the past.

But we just basically said 'f*ck it'. Give the restaurant some business before they have to lay everyone off.

On the plus side the beer was cheap as they were basically giving away their tapped kegs...
