It's back up to $19.99, but it must have been selling well even beforehand when it was price matched to BN, because it's currently sitting at #93 on the list of best-selling Movies and TV on Amazon.

It's back down to $17.99. I hope it climbs back down again. The $12 range is probably the most appropriate price for some of these.

How do you change the collating sequence of movies here? I am annoyed that the Dark Side of Cinema sets aren't in the correct order in my Collection/Wishlist because of the Roman numerals in their titles.

I think if you edit the details of the various box sets’ entries in this site’s database, you can edit the field called “Season/sequence/chronological order” to get the effect you’re looking for. Maybe. Worth a try.

Totally agree. For a few sets, this wasn't a problem. But if they are going to release 20+? I don't have the space either.

KLI Insider- here is an idea. Use ultra-slim cases (there are no booklets, so this shouldn't be a problem), have 5 films per set and have a MSRP of $69.95

I think these would sell well. Thoughts from others?

btw- watching set #6. Holy cow! this could be the best one yet! Singapore was EXCELLENT and the supplements were superb! Definitely re-watchable.

God no, those ultra-slim cases are awful. They’re non standard, you lose the spine text, and for a 5 film set you save less space than just having one standard multi-disc case with swing trays. IMO

I hear you. Just trying to think of alternative. With the current design, 20+ box sets will take literally rows of shelf space.

I have seen some slim cases with spine text, like the ones that came in the Batman Anthology set, but yeah, between the two options, a multi-disc case would be even better. I assume most people prefer the cases as they are now however, and the ability to take them out of the slipbox and just put them on your shelf alphabetically (or however else) is a big perk of them for many too.

If I do end up getting most/all of these noir sets, and future ones, I'll probably buy a couple of 5-disc cases, and then figure out some custom artwork to go with them.

there doesn't seem to be any ideal solution. I personally don't like multi-disc cases as you lose all that wonderful cover art. With Kino not having any disc art, the art on the cases is all we get - and they are normally fantastic, using original poster art in many cases.

I do like looking at the original poster artwork, but there could absolutely be a way to include it in a multi-disc case. Just include a brochure with a poster gallery.

That field is already set, to no apparent effect. It probably only works for entries with the same title. Unfortunately there's no "Sort Title" field.

Has anyone seen My Gun is Quick? I see it is available on bluray and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations regarding this movie. Thanks.

They would take up the same amount of shelf space if Kino released them all individually, so it's basically six of one, half-dozen of the other (provided you bought them all either way). Some folks who buy the sets for one or two titles have apparently been successful at selling individual titles on Ebay, too.

It's Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer. If you like those stories, you'll like the film. (But just in general, yes--it's a buy.)

Speaking of which, this is $1.99 on Kindle right now:

The Mike Hammer Collection, Volume I
by Mickey Spillane

https://smile.amazon.com/Mike-Hammer...dp/B001QIGZC2/

Includes:
I, the Jury
My Gun is Quick
Vengeance is Mine!

No idea if any of those were ever adapted into films, but as someone who's never read any Hammer, the price was certainly right for me.

Edit: I'm tired. Obviously My Gun is Quick was adapted - since that's the film being talked about in the first place.

I, The Jury was made into a 3-D film in 1953, with John Alton providing the cinematography. It's coming from ClassicFlix on 3D blu-ray either later this year or 2023.

Also, I, The Jury is the first of his Mickey Spillane novels, so it's best to start with that one.

just saw this https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Fil.../dp/B0B2KJKKPC
  1. The Strange Love of Martha Ivers (1946),
  2. No Man Of Her Own (1950),
  3. The Turning Point (1952) &
  4. The Desperate Hours (1955)
Here is hoping that Kino, Indicator or someone releases this at a more reasonable price!
I love these films, but $160??

That's just Amazon's inflated pricing. You'll be able to get that collection for about $80 from JB Hi-Fi once it comes out, or from Deep Discount for probably only slightly more.
