just saw this movie tonite, and i think it was amazing, it was genius
i went to go see this movie because im a Dicaprio fan, and his performance was really good, but everybody else just blew me away just as much or even more
someone who really stood out, was Tom Hardy(Eames), i thought he played that role perfectly! i dont know why i liked him so much, i just rele liked his character i guess, i have only seen him in RocknRolla, so i wasnt rele impressed but his performance here takes the cake, looks like we will be seeing alot more of him in 2012, cuz hes casted to play Max, in the the new Mad max movie! cant wait
im really gona have to see this multiple times on blu ray, its just one of those movies wen one viewing isnt enough
i dont kno how my gf fell asleep during this one!, but dont hold it against her, she works alot of hours, and she has done it plenty of times before
you might really chew her up if u knew the other movies she has done it in lol

Because "the lack of knowledge or understanding" has often led to racial and prejudicial motivations in the past, people automatically assume that the terms "ignorant" and "ignorance" have a rude/insulting connotation to them. Not the case.

Second, his 'critique' of the film was solely about the plot development. And I agreed with him on that. But, this is the quintessential "go deeper than what the director is slapping you in the face with" film. I'm just trying to open people's minds to that notion.
Fair enough sir, I apologize. You got your head on straight, so I have no problems with you

For the record I loved it (5 Stars) Seen it 3 times.

But Petra you confuse me. Did C Nolan sit down with you and give you his insight to the movie. You are coming off as your interpretation is SPOT ON, when really it is just your opinion. I agree with some of your points and don't put much weight in others. I will see about 20-30 minutes a day of this this movie for the next 3 weeks, and I notice something new every time.

So no this is not arguing but seriously dude it is fine, ok, great that people do not like this movie. Think of a movie you do not like (you can't like them all) and imagine some one trying to make you like it cause they see something you don't.

You get my point by now.

I always find value in every film I watch.

The only ones that I can think of that nobody could convince me otherwise about are the first 2 Twilight films (Eclipse was actually pretty decent) and anything along the lines of Superhero Movie, Meet The Spartans, etc. Those films have nothing to offer beyond what the director places on the screen... and they offer very little even in THAT department.

Maybe we should team up and enter his dreams to make him like Twilight. I'll be the architect, you just be the guide that gets it done and make sure our

You, sir, will have to do better than that to incept that idea into my head. Remember... "don't think about elephants"? Your attempt has been foiled by my subconscious!

You say that now. But once I take the guise of Edward and invade your dreams, his smoldering eyes and dreamy hair will be too much for you to handle. You will give in and buy Twlight. Afterwards, you will declare it The Greatest Movie with Sparkly Vampires Ever Made! And you will totally think it was all your idea.

Petra kind of has a point, it's kind of hard to do something like that to someone after you've already told them you're going to do it. Incepting has to be subtle and done just right or it won't take.

HAHAHA... will never happen. My resistence to the first 2 Twilight films is far too strong for anyone to change my mind. Consciously or otherwise!

P.S. Is this still considered "on topic" since we are discussing the notion of the inception of an idea into my mind?

You underestimate the power of Edward's dreaminess, when seen in person.

[Show spoiler]I know Cobb SAYS his kids mean more to him than anything in the world but once you go into his subconscious and poke around, it's clear they don't mean anywhere near as much to him as his late wife does. I wonder if they aged also when Cobb and Mal were in limbo or the couple just made them whatever age they wanted while they were down there.

OH MY GOD!

Make it stop!

IT'S LIKE A CANCEROUS VIRUS eating away at me from the inside!

Or is that just my brain burning at the sight and thought of one of the most superficial characters and film series of all time? Hmmm...

Ok. Nevermind. I'm pretty sure I'm safe. You have anti-incepted me. You have helped to re-inforce my original ideas on that subject. :cloud9:

Thanks!

[Show spoiler]They would have aged. They were down there for "something like 50 years." Whatever realm the mind is functioning in still perceives time as it would in reality. However, the mind fractionalizes it based on how deep you go. That is why they finally showed them as an old couple lying on the tracks. They had a lifetime together and had aged with each other. Then, once back in reality, only a few hours had actually passed, so they were only a few hours older then when they initially went into limbo.

[Show spoiler]How could the children age if they are only projections from Cobb and his wife? They seemed very alone in the shots of them 'growing old'.

Going to see the movie again tomorrow (err today). I'll print out your arguments Petra, in case my friend doesn't like it

Make sure you show your friend the arguments before he sees it, that way he can go into it already knowing all that stuff.

Who said anything about
[Show spoiler]the children aging? If your refer to the previous mention of the children age differences, that is regarding the time difference between Cobb having to flee the U.S. and the moment at the end of the film. THAT was a 2 year time period that had passed. Like I said before, when Cobb & Mal were in limbo, it was only actually a matter of hours in real life, but it seemed like 50 years worth of experiences shared together.

Oh, and P.S., DON'T FRIGHTEN YOUR FRIENDS WITH THE NOVEL THAT WOULD BE ALL OF MY COMMENTS PRINTED AND BINDED TOGETHER! One look at that kind of thing prior to seeing the film and even I wouldn't have wanted to sit through it!
