He has himself fooled into believing that he is working in order to buy his way back, but he couldn't possibly want to get back to his "normal" life with so much guilt inside. That would only lead to an unhappy life with his children. Think about it. If he just wanted to get to his children, he wouldn't have faced his guilt and the children themselves would become an even bigger representation of that guilt within him. That would not be a happy life. Heck, that might even lead to resenting the children. And, that would, in turn, cause the children trauma through his subconscious "abuse" of them as symbols of his guilt.
What do you mean "keep taking jobs"? We only see him take 2 and he only mentions one other one. And yes you are reading WAY too into it.

Well, anyway I am glad you think so highly of yourself by telling others they are "wrong" about what the movie means to them.

Obviously
[Show spoiler]he has worked more than just 1 or 2 jobs in the last 2 years if he is trying to buy his way back home. At one point doesn't he say, "I've been trying to buy my way back ever since." That tells me that his intentions make him a workaholic. Plus, Saito mentions something about his reputation being true duing that first mission.
That must mean that he has had plenty of work to keep word of mouth spreading.

At no point did I say they were wrong. I'm offering details that they haven't taken into account. It's up to them to take them as right or wrong. I'm not reading WAY into it. I'm just taking my understanding of the human psychological workings and applying them to the presentation of the film. Understanding what is going on with Cobb's mind is what puts the whole bigger picture into perspective. I'm not saying that I am right. I'm just saying that there is a lot of power behind what I have witnessed with this perspective in mind.

Most people don't ever consider how human psychology behaves or why it does what it does. As an actor I always take this vantage point when studying performances. That is why I can see greatness in a lot of performances that people say are horrible. For example, Jim Carrey is brilliant in Cable Guy because it was the first time that he actually had to act. Everything up until then was "performing for the punchline." In Cable Guy he is performing for the trauma and getting laughs from the twisted ways his character's psyche handles that pain.

I guess that this perspective I have on the human psychology has never really applied to understanding a film so much as it has with Inception. Usually it just a performance that applies. I think that may be why I'm so passionate about sharing it in this case. Most times, as in the Cable Guy example, people don't want to bother listening because they always say the film subject which is being discussed is a horrible piece of entertainment. Therefore, they don't want to hear anything about it, even if it could make the experience more enjoyable.

With Inception, everyone is loving it. And, for once, my ability to offer insight through my unique vantage point is actually something that people wish to entertain as potentially viable. By no means am I saying that I'm an authority on the film. After all, I didn't write, direct, or perform in it. However, I do believe that my understanding has, so far, stood fairly strong against most other varying arguements.

I bet it will. Plus, it seems that people are not just spreading the word, but that they are taking people with them to see it. I am taking people with me to see it tomorrow night and it'll be my 3rd time!

I would not be surprised if it gets $70+ this week.

That's surprisingly low! I would've thought it should have made a lot more than that. Hopefully with all the positive reviews, people will go out to see it this coming weekend.

That's not surprising or low, this is a huge budget contemporary Sci-Fi movie, that is based of no previous Franchise or product, it was never going to do huge it's first weekend.

Those who said that they HAD seen it said that they are already scheduled to go at least twice more with other people who can't get together for a group viewing this week.

So, I won't be surprised if it does the same number through this week + next weekend as it did its opening weekend.

So many people these days are "waiting for the opening weekend crowds to die down." This is strange in my opinion. Pretty soon, more people will develop this attitude than people who don't have it. Box office will no longer be about opening weekend. The big numbers will come from 3rd and 4th weekend numbers.

Obviously I'm exaggerating, but I'm making a point.

50% is the average drop after one week. I'll give it 44. Remember, we are "attached' to this movie and our hopes are more than likely projecting a strong week. We want to share with the world but trends do not normally change.

Here are the exceptions and only Avatar is notable.

I would generally agree that 50% drop is average, but I honestly think in this case that Inception will be different.
