Can't wait for Fox to release The Abyss and True Lies on UHD BD. Clearly this is the reason why they've been holding out on us.

Just do it. All the commentators here say that you Northeast England folks eat, sleep and live football (soccer)....be it Sunderland or Newcastle supporters.

I’m not following. Did you mean to post that in the 4K Blu-ray (Ultra HD Blu-ray) thread?

Two ways to do it:

1. Capture at HFR and deliver that data thru compression (best quality, but more bandwidth)

2, Capture at HFR and deliver it at a more traditional signal with metadata and then reconvert that traditional signal (in the home) to 120 (would be of lesser quality than #1 but less bandwidth intensive).

For folks in Steed’s and Geoff’s neck of the woods, change 120fps to 100fps.

Real world advice for locals in Southern California. Who would I go to first, without hesitation (except maybe for fighting the freakin traffic), for treatment of a partial or full thickness rotator cuff tear…or, for that matter, any shoulder injury?

Answer: Stephen J. Snyder, M.D.

For shoulder sufferers, read his bio….

It got going at about 5am. I'm a bit of an insomniac anyway (it's currently 3:09 in the AM over here) so I didn't need any help staying awake, cue the predictable replies about the fight being a perfect sleeping aid etc etc.

Yeah, no doubt about it. That's why the press and other folk didn't understand the walkout the other week. It wasnt about abandoning the team, it was about knowing (imo) that the team were not giving everything for the cause. All we ever ask of our side is full effort. If we get that, they get out support always.

A couple weeks ago, I saw a banner being held up in the stands by unhappy supporters from either Newcastle? or Sunderland? which I think read something like….“We don’t demand you win…but we want you to give 100%”. < I’m paraphrasing; however, you get the gist of it.

It could easilly apply to both our clubs. It's a tragedy that two such well supported clubs don't get what they deserve. Both clubs have a bunch of (in my opinion) clueless idiots running them. I think this weekend will spell curtains for us and like I said in the football thread, play with fire for too long and you are going to get burnt.

Oh........... And I can't wait for 4k bluray!

Yep, he probably tore it even more during the fight -

Not to make excuses for the outcome, but it makes me wonder how it would have turned out if the Pac Man hadn’t been fighting with an exacerbated injury which required shoulder surgery.

The enormous projection issue aside, fact is, albeit given the small sample of creatives (filmmakers) on the panel at the last HPA tech retreat which Richard posted about here - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...y#post10417065

I would say the industry-at-large has little interest with regards to HFR in movies. This was further evidenced by the fact that, although not reported in the article posted by Richard, after the day’s panels had concluded, the organizer asked the attendees to vote as to the value of HFR and out of perhaps several hundred people, a paltry few raised their hands.

Point is, bring me HFR with boxing, a bicycle race like the end of a sprint stage at the upcoming Amgen Tour of California ( http://www.amgentourofcalifornia.com/footer/amgen ), Le Tour de France, etc. …or dare I say it, Eden Hazard racing down the pitch on a counterattack for Chelsea in a Premier league match…and then I’ll be interested;therefore, I didn’t raise my hand to signify a ‘Yay’ during the vote.
Call me old fashioned or preconditioned from years of watching motion pictures at 24fps, but HFR pulls me out of a movie. That's just the way it is.

HFR needs to be variable if you ask me, select scenes will play at a different Frame Rate to better the effect.

Who happens to be the surgeon whom many fellow orthopedic surgeons go to for their personal shoulder problems…consider that a pearl of information to any of you SoCal weekend warriors, when that need arises. Actually, for that matter, it’s not uncommon for people to fly in to see him for examination and treatment, from out-of-state.
