Would defintiely be good news that someone has picked up the Geneon USA stuff, especially after the Geneon Japan Perfect Blue announcement.

Has WB released any anime title in the past what so ever? Maybe they are testing the waters with a movie release before trying out series?

Well they did have the Animatrix, but that's all I can think of.

It will have its spine facing the wrong way, which will certainly annoy the living daylights out of many people.

Just wait for the US version, seriously.

Also -- LOVE the German Kubrick box. Way better than the SD DVD one offered in the States. And if each of those images is the actual cover, then Germany has officially trumped the quite lackluster US cover designs.

Still better than the American cover from what I remember. You're right, it could be better.

Well, Game Plan was a pretty sizeable hit earlier this Fall. It's a totally formulaic comedy, of course, but it's actually one of the biggest boxoffice releases for early 2008.

Im sure it was good (not my type of movie or actor) but how many times do they need to have a movie with him playing football?

He probably enjoys doing those kinds of films. He was ex-player for NCAA Miami Hurricanes (I believe).

It's not that he's playing football, it's that he's playing it against type.

See, it's one of those films in which a big macho guy has to take care of a spunky yet lovable tyke. Many big macho guys have seen commercial success doing this kind of films, from Wallace Beery (as immortalized in Barton Fink) to Vin Diesel, in The Pacifier.

So this was actually the biggest hit in Mr. Johnson's post-Scorpion-King career.

As long as people flock to these kinds of films, Hollywood will keep making them. They're as close to a sure thing as anything in Tinseltown.

I seriously hope Sony reconsider that Godzilla cover.

If this film had anything going for it, it was its ad campaign. This cover makes it look way cheaper and dodgier than it needs to -- and as a big-time VFX extravaganza, it should look as appealing as it can.
