According to their Facebook page, not until spring next year and it's implied it may be missing the major new doc which is apparently nearly an hour long. I'd have preferred a standard release but I'm not going to take the chance because that extra sounds like it could be great.

Not until next year, and depending on sales of the limited edition of course.
I don't mind paying extra for this, Odeon have put a lot of effort in here. |

I'll swing for the metal, but probably replace it with a standard one later on.

That makes me feel better. Odeon had it for £15.99 + shipping but they upped it to £17.99 now. I'll be interested to see HMV's price. I check a lot of sites regularly for it and not many have it listed yet.
I'm wondering if slow sales will delay a standard release too. It'll help that it's region free but 4000 is a lot, especially at the asking price. |

Odeon release date is 7/9/2015
if ordering from them they have said they will ship 1 week before The documentary is only slated to be on the LTD edition steelbook and probably the DVD re-release which has not been scheduled yet. We will not release on standard BD until Spring 2016. The feature runs for just under an hour and includes people involved in the film as well as devotee Reece Shearsmith (League of Gentlemen) and renowned horror writer Jonathan Rigby. Jake and Marc from Nucleus Films (of Video Nasties fame) have excelled themselves on this feature! At £17.99 I was going to order it as that's £2 cheaper than Amazon. But at checkout they added postage and it was for second class so chances are even if they ship a week early I might not get it quicker than Amazon Prime and I'm confident the Amazon price will drop a bit before release.

Also, postage is still second class so earlier than Amazon might not be guaranteed. I often get Monday releases on the saturday or sunday ( got The Third Man LE today) |

Hello all ...
I just found this thread. (Yay!) I'm interested in buying Island of Terror. I know of 2 places that are selling it online ... Amazon and Zavvi. I've read that it's region free and that the disc is identical whether I order it from Amazon or Zavvi. But what I don't understand is if the packaging is different between Zavvi and Amazon. Anybody? Also, is one place more reliable (or just better in general) than the other for something that will be shipped overseas? Thanks. Amazon UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Island-Terro...terror+blu+ray Zavvi: http://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/island-.../10988551.html EDIT: I live in the US. Last edited by Page14; 07-26-2015 at 01:26 AM. |

In terms of who to buy from I would go with Amazon even if slightly more expensive as in this case. You can use your US account on the UK site, just enter your registered email address and password. The main problem with Zavvi is if something goes wrong they have about the worst customer service of any online seller. You can only contact them via their own online message system on which they take around a day to respond. No phone, email or online chat. |
