Ghostbusters.

I can't believe it's taken Sony so long. Hopefully the delay is because they are making the best transfer ever. Ever. :-D

Default When do they release Star Wars?

When they finally do release star wars, do you think they'll only make a 1-6 box or do it individually also?

When our old pal Gearge finally gets around to it, (again) the decision on a Star Wars release on the latest HD technology will probably be willed to his great grand kids in 2084. You will be watching in HD holographic, 360 degree envelopment as well as the sound with no physical disks, hardware and especially a box to put nothing in. (Or am I being sarcastic with the turtle?)

LOL, it does seem that Lucas likes to milk his fans knowing that we will fork over our hard earned cash.

Correct. And then the "Extra Special, Super Duper Special Limited Editions" with peices of original film frames will be added for some double, double dipping! Common George and Fox. Lets put this HD rift to bed. Who would win? Transformers and an HD DVD players for Christmas? Or the complete Star Wars collection and a blu-ray player for Christmas? Mmmmmmm..... Let me think!

I heard it's already in hidef, as it has been shown on HBO-HD, and some people have claimed to have copied it from there. But then again that's probably 1080i.

Blu-ray has really destroyed my viewing capabilites on the "up-scaled" DVDs. I watched episode 3 a month ago and wanted to ralph at first. Oh the humanity! Colors are so washed out, grain, clarity and detail sucks. Sound is not bad for a DVD, but it takes a good 30 minutes of viewing until your retinas adjust to that PQ.

Maybe George will test the waters with the prequels first (would much rather have the Original Trilogy but if they are released they'll be the Special Editions). He hasn't released the version of Episode I with the CG Yoda yet, right? It's been years since we first saw images of that... Hopefully there will be some other cool changes as well, but I'm not expecting Episode I to get much better.

I am not a Star Wars fan. In fact, the only one I could even tolerate is Episode V. Still, being the sap that I am, I would buy them for Blu-ray as I am sure the PQ and SQ would blow my mind. Especially the lightsaber fight scenese in the new ones.
Still, what I dont understand is why Lucas waits so long. I mean, I understand the Blu-ray markert is not as big as it will be but w/e people wont buy now others will buy later on down the road.

I actually have the HD DVD release of Batman Begins, and it looks fine to me.

When it comes out on Blu-Ray, I'm sure you'll be impressed. I detected little or no film grain in my copy, nor any artifacts in the picture like you'd expect in a movie that is almost always shot in the dark. Also the Dolby True HD audio was amazing and vibrant. I can only imagine what it would sound like in a lossless BD audio format.

I hope it does come to Blu-Ray soon. Everybody deserves this one in their collection.

Uh...

Wait a minute, isn't WB format neutral? Why doesn't Blu-Ray have this one yet??? Am I totally confused. Is WB exclusive? I'm tired, and need to re-check this one.

I've seen the prequels anyway in hidef on the Movie Network here in Canada. Especially the last two (shot in digital) look incredible. It's broadcast as 1080i but who knows what source they are using?

I suspect both boxed set(s) and individual movies.

Hopefully both the original and re-mastered versions, but at least make the originals available some way please!
