Hawknelson, I think you are confusing the two. The one your probably referring to is the one about space, and the one I am referring to has to deal with the ocean. I know its confusing since they both have the same titles.

I've been watching all of the Prison Break series (Season 1) on Blu and it is as near perfect PQ and SQ as you could hope for. It is 4 x ~45 min episodes per disc with 6 discs in the set.

I think Fox may be gauging how well Prison Break does before putting more series on BD. They are expensive and will have a limited appeal, but they are great to watch without commercials.

Oh, by the way -- it is all high bit-rate AVC with DTS-HD Master encoding.

But 24 sold so many SDDVD's so I would think that 24 is a givemme to be one of the best selling HD series out.

I would buy this up in a heart beat, and I think it will come eventually. I'm going to guess that we'll get one by next holiday for sure (assuming season 7 still can street by then).

I would really like to see season 1 in the summer, and day and date for season 7 in December, and then continue this trend to catch up

Prison Break PQ and SQ often equal the best encode on an actual FILM. I was extremelly surprise at the sound track and sound desing, it's really designed like a film and not a standard serie.

I hope their bring S2, beacuse i haven't seen it (and no i don't need advise for the same people who say it crap over and over, i swear, it's the same people LOL)

2 questions!

If a film is released on blu-ray and its roughly 30/40 years old does this mean the quality would be as good as if it was filmed yesterday? I've got The Great Escape on normal DVD and although its been "remastered" the quality is still pretty poor, infact not even as good as when its shown on tv.


The second, i've got about 600 "normal" or standard dvd films. How good is this upscaling thing? Surely if it was as close to 1080p as they say we'd need not bother with blu-ray? I dont really want to think about buying most of those films over again!

I meant to ask, would blu-ray vastly improve the picture quality over standard dvd on something like the new Simpsons Movie or tv shows like Family Guy? Or is a cartoon pretty much the same as normal dvd quality?

With season 6 out next Tuesday on DVD. I'm just wondering if anyone has heard what is the hold up with Fox and 24 on Blu-Ray? And for that matter Prison Break season 2.
