I'm pretty sure the Rush Hour movies are New Line Cinema flicks. It may be a while before we see those movies on Blu-Ray.

Any word on Hero? I loved that movie and it would look AMAZING on Blu-ray!
They already have House of Flying Daggers and Curse of the Golden Flower. Why not Nero?

Default Any chance for Battlestar Galactica on BD?

Since Battlestar Galactica is being released on HD DVD on 12/4, any chance that it could get released on Blu-ray for import in Europe??? I really want this, along with the Bourne movies and maybe Heroes.

i think that the one think we can guarantee in this format war is that anything can happen, just don't hold your breath. i too want the bourne series to go blu, but i doubt it will happen any time soon.

It's getting harder and harder to not buy an HD DVD player, especially at today's prices. If there's no BD announcments for these come this holiday season I might have to bite.

I think it's safe to say that BSG will definately be coming to Blu. We'll just have to wait for Universal to come to their sense first. :-/

I would guess by the end of 2008 you will be able to see this as well as all the other more popular titles on Blu.

The cost of hardware isn't the problem. Buying discs can quickly become expensive. The boxsets of Galactica, Star Trek and Heroes will cost some 400$, or one time and a half the cost of an inexpensive player.

If you wish to become format neutral, that's not a problem. But if you ultimately want to stick with one format alone, you'd end up spending several hundreds of dollars on something you wish to discontinue at some point.

Again, Universal keeps pressuring us.

I signed the boycott petition that was in a link around here.

Universal being HD-DVD exclusive isn't the only reason I signed it.
I've had a problem with NBC/Universal for quite some time now.

Here is what I have to say:

1. Rumors have been going around since the beginning of the year saying Star Wars would be exclusive to Blu-ray. I do believe there will be an announcement sometime next year about the series. George Lucas has been busy since he is remastering all of the movies in 3-D. Like that Spy Kids movie, but without the glasses. Should look awesome. The process takes so long though, that they will only be able to convert 1 movie a year. So 6 years from now, every star wars movie will be in high def and in 3-D.

2. From what I read, 300 had grain added to the picture before released in HD. Warner said they did that to give it a more "real" feel (like film). They didn't want it to look 100% digital. I personally don't like grain...

3. Another rumor: When Saving Private Ryan comes out, its gonna have an "old film" kinda look. Even though it will be high def, they film was mastered to make it look kind of "old". Don't expect it to be 100% BD.

The movies I look forward to the most, that I would spend all my $$$ on:

Star Wars Epi 3
Saving Private Ryan
War of the Worlds
Pirates of the Caribbean 3
Transformers
LOTR 3

Cool anyone heard about a movie called "The Purifiers"?

It's like The Warriors but British and I think it would look amazing in Hi-Def. It's filmed a lot like 300 with slowdowns during fights and then back to full speed, etc. Its probably a very cultish film but I'd love to see it nonetheless. Any chance it'll turn blu?

I don't mind paying 300$ for good HD DVD player, but I dont' want to extend format war, and also later on I don't want to be stuck with HD DVDs that will need separate player or be forced to buy dual player and pay dual price...
