Die Another Day is a funny one because there are so many things about it that kind of annoy me or are stupid, but there are a lot of great things in it too, some of the best moments of Brosnan's era in fact. I think overall it's a good looking film, the scenes in Cuba and Iceland stick out in my mind as being gorgeous, and I do like the car chase / battle on the glacier between Bond and Zhao. Picking out all the references to previous Bond films was fun too... more so than when they did it with Spectre.

I love blaxploitation and I really like Live and Let Die too. It has such a different feel to the rest of the series... like just another early 70s action flick instead of a Bond movie. It's just that frigging Kananga death scene that I can't stand.

I think it just comes across as so lame because it's a gag created by old, out-of-touch white dudes trying to be funny by equating snowboarding with surfing. It's a shame too because it's another penny whistle moment where the joke song overshadows the awesome Barry music that scores the rest of the PTS. I will admit though, when I was a 9-year-old seeing AVTAK on the big screen for the first time, I thought it was amusing.

Well, that was early 60s teenybopper Beatles, not late 60s cool hippie Beatles, so he can be forgiven.

Nothing to do with Bond or the movies themselves, but I always thought John Cleese looked out of place in them. I like Cleese in comedies, but his role here just didn't suit him in my opinion.

Yes I agree with you. For Your Eyes Only was made at a time when Janet Brown was quite well known on UK television as an impressionist and she appeared in a number of shows. However, that final scene in the film as Margaret Thatcher spoilt the whole movie I always thought.

I cringed in For Your Eyes Only at the teen ice skater who kept making passes at Bond, who was being played by a 53 to 54 year old Roger Moore at that point.

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to cringe at that.

The exchanges between Bond and Bibi are iconic!

"He thinks I'm still a virgin."
"Yes, well, you get your clothes on... and I'll buy you an ice-cream."

I think one of the most silly parts was the little ball headed man getting dumped down the smoke stack and saying. MR BOOOOOOOONDDDDDDDDDDD.

“Now, now, keep your hair on.” LOL. That part WAS silly but it was meant to be a way to emasculate the Blofeld character as an F.U. to Kevin McClory.

"Live and Let Die" was one of my first Bond films as a wee 5-6 year old and always has a special place in my heart and list.

I like it too. The crocodile & alligator farm scene is a favourite: “Well done, Albert.”

What do you think about the music? I love it myself. Very funky and it fits well with the film. I’m not much of a vinyl guy but about 15-20 years ago I was at a flea market with some friends and found a pristine LP of the soundtrack. The cover with that original poster art looks so damn cool.

It's great. One of the series' more underrated scores.

This is also the movie where Bond takes some poor girl's virginity while dealing with heroin, my least liked 007 adventure. Baron is cool tho
YOLT - Bond gets turned Japanese by hunching over and wearing a Spock wig
Die Another Day - almost the entire film
TWINE - The Christmas line
OHMSS - The chicken phobic woman

opinions?
Bond bedding Mayday in A View to a Kill. Just awkward and weird.

I'll bet it must have been a bit awkward for Roger Moore to do that scene in particular considering he didn't appear to like Grace Jones, according to his autobiography. It's one of the very few occasions where Moore has said anything negative about anyone in books I've read.

According to Moore's autobiography "My Word is My Bond", Jones played that bedroom scene with a large black dildo (which Moore only alludes to in his commentary for the film).

Yup, an awkward and weird scene definitely made awkwarder and weirder, though Jones must have found it satisfying turning the tables on a notorious on-set prankster like Moore...
