Whether the colour is historically accurate I've got no idea, but it was weird seeing snow that's actually white instead of green or teal or blue or whatever.
yup, it's a goodie. not my favorite but probably top 5. always wonder if it would be unequivocally the best had Connery done it. people seem to think he couldn't pull off the softer touch Lazenby brought but I think he could have. alas, we'll never know.

Blech.
It's amazing that OHMSS has grown in stature over the decades. When I first saw it in the early 90s, I was curious because it had such a bad reputation and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I thought it was fantastic and it's still one of my favourites. Not long after, it's cult reputation started to grow. Makes me kind of proud. I was living in the UK at the time so the first few times I watched it was in that edited version you mention. When I saw the proper version it was a revelation!

Those new covers are shockingly dull and boring. Compare those to the original poster art.

Now, I'm no expert on James Bond films, but again i would prefer the original audio, in case things changed substantially in the new mixes.
I had no idea Jaws was altered that badly. I'll never watch it in surround now. I have the blu-ray but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Glad I know which audio track to select.

Is it just me or does it look like Roger Moore is getting some of Holly's Good Head down there?

Those covers are just an embarrassment. Anybody who is already a Bond fan will have these on blu already. The idea is to appeal to younger fans and newbies and those random photos from non-action related scenes just don't cut it. At the very least, seeing as the discs are the same, if they had re-released these using the original poster art, they would have seen an increase in sales from fans re-buying them just for the original art. WTF were they thinking?

I'm not sure I'm shocked at this cover for the same reasons you are, but it looks really shopped. Did someone digitally groom all of Mr. Bond's chest hair away? Maybe I'm just traumatized from enduring all those years of Mr. Connery and his Zardoz getups, that my memory has retroactively applied it to Mr. Moore's chest.

Also, there are two collections if you enter "007" in the blu-ray search up top, that bring up art for a George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton releases.

It's called 'laziness' in it's highest order, on MGM's part.

It was suggested the other day in a thread that perhaps he should be granted Mod status

I have to agree with that guy... considering what's been going on in the past year in the US that's a bit of an iffy image to use. LALD already generates heat for its black stereotypes.

As for Moore... he was always smooth chested... you'd never be able to see his fake nipple in TMWTGG otherwise! It's funny because You Only Live Twice makes specific reference to Bond's chest hair.

Wow, looks like I missed some fireworks... I hate when stuff like that gets deleted before I have the chance to read it. Mods should just leave that and not delete it, so we get an idea of what sort of stuff gets you suspended.

Wow...

I'm glad that I own this cover...

...instead of this cover...

I think that the uniform look of the new stand-alone Blu-rays is cool, but the cover images are better with the 50th Anniversary Blu-rays.

More like a damp squib than fireworks. Still, at least he got a vacation for something a little less trivial than a shirt button this time.
