DAD is the only film I seriously consider skipping when I watch through the whole series. Usually I'll just have it on while doing something else cause it feels like Bond-blasphemy to skip any of them, even that turd.

And John Glen's run as director is my second-favorite only to the first three films. You guys are making me want to do a Bond marathon! Has to wait until after Halloween season though...

Yeah, I would really say when Bond gets to the ice castle, the film kind of falls apart. It's still stupid fun in a way, but the first half definitely sets up a solid second half that never follows through.

David Arnold's score though, is really fantastic. So thankful La-La Land Records released an expanded 2-CD release recently.

I watched Die Another Die and it wasn't very good. I had seen it years ago so I didn't remember everything. It would have been better without the really bad cgi effects. It was also too over the top. I liked the first half but the movie started to go bad when Bond went to Iceland. The World is Not Enough is much better. Tomorrow Never Dies is the best Brosnan Bond movie.

Just in case anyone here is interested: Pluto TV has a channel that plays James Bond films 24/7. They also have all pre-Brosnan films on demand, including the 1954 TV adaption of Casino Royale.

D.A.D. starts off as a legitimately good movie with little-no stupid moments....and then at the literal 30 minute mark quickly evolves into something awful.
Yeah, it goes downhill once he gets to Iceland. Ugh...

I've been watching that channel on Pluto TV just about non-stop for weeks now. It really has me wanting physical 4k UHD releases of the pre-Craig Bond movies (I know the Craig movies are coming this month).

Goldeneye is the only halfway decent Brosnan effort. After Licence To Kill the Bond series really falls off, coming across as half-hearted fan films. The series really misses the likes of Cubby Broccoli, Richard Maibaum, John Glen and John Barry, the people that made it great in the first place.

EON would've been a far better send off as a movie for Brosnan.

I'll say this - Batman & Robin had the balls to go all out stupid compared to the more reigned in and insipid Batman Forever. I look at DAD the same way. An incredibly entertaining and stupid movie. The 2nd "best" Brosnan film aside from Goldeneye.

I too love the opening of DAD, even the title song doesn’t spoil it for me, believe it or not, but the moment Halle Berry appeared, I was done. I just have never felt she was a good actress and I thought her houseboy haircut in DAD even took away from her attractiveness, so out the window she went. Madonna was abysmal, can’t act, is no longer sexy, hopeless. Poor Rosamund Pike mired in this mess, but at least she never embarrassed herself. I have not been surprised in the least that she has had a great career in spite of being in that crap. I’ll never forget how excited I was sitting in the theater watching the opening scenes of DAD. I thought to myself, now THIS is going to be a great Bond movie! Whoops! It’s the only Bond title I refuse to own.

You know, I rewatched Die Another Day recently and as stupid as it is, it still feels like a rollicking ride with everything a Bond film should have. More Moonraker than From Russia with Love, but that's not a bad thing in my estimation. I thought it was a lot of fun opening day 2002 and I still do, cheesy as it may be. The world needs some more cheese in their franchise pictures.

All 4 of the Bronsan Bond films were added to Pluto TV 2 or 3 weeks ago and are regularly playing there. So, Pluto TV basically has every Bond movie except for the 4 Craig films.

Just for clarity... These "actor" sets are basically the only option for "full" boxsets not including the Craig films right?

I own the 4 Daniel Craig Bond's individually, but never upgraded my DVD sets for any of the originals, and looking around, I don't see any other boxsets that include everything except the newer ones.

Thanks guys!

I'm amused by the thought of the MGM marketing department considering a "The Complete Non-Daniel Craig James Bond 007 Collection" release.

I wouldn’t go quite that far but it’s definitely in the top 3 best Bond movies of the 90s.
