I've actually found most of the Connery/Moore Bonds look better in the 4K streams that the current blu-rays, and been going through them the last few months as I read the book. I highly recommend others giving them a look for examples

I'd rather they break the series up into actor collections. I'd still buy them all, but it'd probably be cheaper in the long run.

Out of curiosity, do the 4K streams feature the same weird windowboxing/squeezing during many of the opening title sequences as the blu-rays? Or have they been restored to the correct aspect ratio?

Just watched what I consider to be the two most underrated Bond movies. OHMSS and License to Kill, both really well done. Although at my age Sean Connery is still number 1.

BBY has the current white box set on sale for $75... I'm torn between just snagging that and buying a replacement case for the last set to throw NTTD in, or waiting for a new set

IF we get a 4k collection next year, pricing will be interesting.

The original Bond 50 blu-ray set (22 films, didn't include Skyfall) had an MSRP of $299.99, but I believe I got mine from Amazon for $199 a couple of months after released.

The $299.99 MSRP equals about $13.60 per film, not bad.

The Columbia Classics 4k Volume 2 has a $164.99 MSRP, about $27.50 per film.

If the "Bond 60" 4k set is priced similarly, the MSRP would be about $687. Not sure how much mass-market appeal that would have, although the price would certainly be discounted by retailers like Amazon etc.

Just in case anyone reading this is not familiar with what you mean by "a replacement case for the last set to throw NTTD in":

The current white box set has the first four Daniel Craig movies placed in one four-disc Elite Blu-ray case. If you swap out that case with a five-disc Elite case—which is the exact same size, and identical except for a place to snap in an extra disc—then viola, you can put the five Craig movies in that case, and hold all 25 movies in the box set. That's what I'm gonna do.

(Only "problem" is: the NTTD standalone Blu-ray release is supposed to come with a bonus DVD version of the movie... which will then be "left over".)

Yes, sorry I could've clarified that better. My ONLY issue with doing that is my OCD about the box and the package "art" not representing the NTTD inclusion but... for this price and the fact that I've held off for so long, I'm thinking that might be the best way to go.

Donate the leftover to your local library. Problem solved.

Considering a Craig Bond 4K set was released, I would hope 4K sets of each individual actor and their respective Bond films will come out first before a "all in one" ultimate collection.

I agree but the only problem is where do you put Lazenby? A deluxe Lazenby single film collection. Maybe just throw Lazenby in with the Connery films since Connery came back for one more official 007 film after Lazenby. Same thing with Dalton’s film to just throw them in with Moore’s since he only did 2.

I didn’t upgrade to the Craig 4K set since I knew it wasn’t complete but I have pre-ordered the 4K Steelbook. Not sure I will upgrade the other Craig films because they are from essentially the 2K DI era.

Your guess is as good as mine. They released 3 volumes of blu-rays in 08-09 with various actors' films in each set, no rhyme or reason, and then released the Bond 50 set in 2012.

I'm just hopeful they'll release something for the 60th anniversary.

The ones I have on iTunes seem to be framed correctly. Can't remember all of them off the top of my head, but I know Moonraker no longer has the windowboxed main titles, and The World Is Not Enough's geometry looks right (the circles are no longer ovals).

I'm sure this has been discussed, but I wonder if Universal distributing NTTD will put a kink in any complete set. Of course, now that I think about it, WB is currently distributing MGM titles, and they recently merged their physical media operations with Universal, so that actually might make it easier.

Agreed. The orginal blu-ray collections were split into two volumes for Connery and Moore. With Lazenby and Dalton getting separate releases. I would agree with combining them together. Like this.

Connery Vol. 1, Dr. No-Goldfinger (three films)
Connery Vol. 2 w/Lazenby, Thunderball-Diamonds Are Forever (four films)
Moore Vol. 1, Live And Let Die-Moonraker (four films)
Moore Vol. 2 w/Dalton, For Your Eyes Only-License to Kill (five films)
Brosnan Collection, GoldenEye-Die Another Day (four films)
Craig Collection, Casino Royale-No Time To Die (five films)

Doing it that way makes each set between 3-5 films, which I believe will make the 4K collections more cost affordable?

I'm planning to print of li'l bits of paper with "NO TIME TO DIE" and "2021" in the correct font/line weight/sizes/colour, and sticking those on the case insert in the appropriate places. Well that's the plan anyway; who knows if I'll actually get around to it! But if I do, I'll share the file on here...

That would be awesome! I missed that one back in the day.

Unfortunately, the skeptic in me thinks there's close to zero chance of it happening in the current physical media market...
