Kino has announced that they are preparing a 4K release:

People have made 4K's from other sources too, like an interpositive. Yes, it's not ideal, but it will be a significant improvement over what's currently available. Heck, for a lot of newer films, the 4K is an upscale of a 2K DI. Anyhoo,

I hope with the 4K they keep the sepia look similar to the BD for the scenes in 1912 and a modern grade for the scenes in 1980
