When was that sketch done and who said Fleming drew it? I've seen the sketch before, but never attributed to Fleming himself, which is why I'm curious about it.
Actually, if you check Wikipedia, you'll see that Fleming said Bond was a cross between himself and Hoagy. That sketch above was commissioned by Fleming, thats also stated on Wikipedia. It doesn't say who actually drew it, my mistake. But Fleming approved it.

I only hope whoever replaces Craig will provide something new to the series we haven't seen before.
I "grew up" with all the Bonds. As I said, YOLT was my first Bond film at the movies with my dad...I was 9 in 1967. I like different things about all of the Bonds. I think Brosnan was a good combo between Connery and Moore's dandy Bond.

I think GoldenEye is one of the best Bond films ever. Brosnan was worth waiting for...damn Remington Steele and NBC for holding him up. It's ironic that over his run, Brosnan wasn't happy with the way the films were going. Invisible cars? A bit OTT, even for Bond. He pleaded for more physical stuff and less effects. They didn't give in to him, but they did to/for Craig. But QOS was a bit rough. Mendes fixed that in Skyfall. QOS is too fast, the action and editing, IMHO. It assaults you, like the rage zombies in the 28 Days Later films compared to The Walking Dead. But Skyfall was a masterpiece.

Goodnight accidentally turns on the solar laser with her butt, almost killing Bond. No, she was not portrayed better. She was the worst IMO.

As I said. Still had her moments. For a large part of the movie she was portrayed mostly competent.

I actually think Craig looks more like the drawing than Connery other than his light hair. I think it's the pale eyes that do it.

I always thought Jason Isaacs was a good match for the drawing.

Yes and he would make a great Bond. Case Histories is awesome

Just finished Moonraker. It wasn't terrible. I dunno. The cheese is starting to blur.

Peter Dinklage sounds just like Drax. lol.

I do find it interesting how it made so much money at the box office. It pretty much made the same as all the Connery films together.

I always thought Robert Shaw would have made a fine Bond. I think he was considered in the beginning. He made a fine villain in any event.

Yeah I've seen on docs and featurettes that it caught the Star Wars wave. Bond in Space and one of the most popular villans Jaws also returns. It one on the weaker ones for me and it's rarely rewatched (although still seen it about 2 dozen times)

I don't think Robert Shaw was handsome enough.

I think Clive Owen would have been a very good James Bond, as an alternative to Daniel Craig.

I never thought he was supposed to look movie-star handsome. He had good features but was also a "cruel" looking guy with a scar on his face by Fleming's description.

Adjusted for price inflation it ranks fifth behind Thunderball, Goldfinger, Skyfall and You Only Live Twice.

I really like it. The theme song is amazing and its huge production budget provided tons of locations and great analog effects. It also has this nasty little scene.

Default James Bond Volume Collections & Ultimate Collection

Just finished For Your Eyes Only.

Not bad. Not bad at all. I think a lot of these plots unnecessarily complicated. Even though I liked the story of TMWTGG better, this would be my second favorite Moore flick. It is pretty jarring how far they scaled back from Moonraker.

Looking forward to the next two with Grandpa Moore.

I like the 80s Bonds quite a bit. A lot of people dismiss Octopussy, but I think it's great. Hope you like it.

My introduction to Bond was Goldfinger when I was in grade school, but my local video store didn't have any of the other Bond's, so that was my only experience with Bond until Goldeneye in 1995, so really Brosnan was "my" Bond and the one that first pops in my head when I think of Bond, even though at this point I think Dalton gave the best portrayal of Bond. I still remember watching the Special Edition DVD's when they were released and what great fun it was to go through the series and watch the films and then the documentaries. It was all so fascinating to see the evolution of the series. I enjoy all of the Bond's and the Bond films for one reason or another, but the best ones are the ones that mix the fantastic with a sense of reality - Casino Royale, Living Daylights, Licence to Kill, For Your Eyes Only, From Russia with Love, and OHMSS. But then I also get a great kick out of stuff like Moonraker and You Only Live Twice. There's so much character, charm, and fun to be found in those movies that I find little to complain about. I just love this series to death.

My condolences in advance for the pain of watching Octopussy
