The tiny Bonds on the cover are clearly riding the coattails of Ant-man

Maybe that's because Germany isn't getting DCs of the entire collection like the U.S. & UK (according to the official 007.com release).

They're tired of being portrayed as the bad guys.

Nah, both reviews are basically complaining about the repackaging of the series every time a new film comes out.

I'm sticking with my Bond 50 set, it's a nice set and like you said it's conceptually covered cause it's just the first 50 years. The outer box looks wonderful and I like the art on the inside, having a Bond girl next to each disc. I'm not going to get this set for the plastic cases if it's just the same transfers/discs. I won't buy all of these movies again until the 4K remasters come out.

Those steelbooks do look great, I love the idea. I'd consider picking up From Russia With Love, Casino Royale, and Thunderball. What I'd really like to see at some point, whether in normal Blu-ray cases or steelbooks, perhaps with the 4K remasters, is the original poster art. The Bond films had many fantastic posters, thankfully I have that hardcover book that came with my Bond 50 set.

Yes of course I'm aware of that, but as I stated initially...the price drop is significant for those who never went in on the Bond 50 set before. That set didn't release day 1 for $99, that price came about much later on after the set had been available. So again, the day 1 price for the new collection is something new buyers to the series will benefit from.

This set will be $100 within a year, so wait if you can. They can only repackage stuff so much. Almost every Bond fan got the Bond 50 set for the BDs and I bet unless they unload their Bond 50, won't be upgrading to this set. Bond 50 had 2 print runs, so it's hard to believe there are that many people that might buy this set. I expect bargain basement prices eventually.

I didn't really like the SBs, but if they are really from the opening credit sequences, then at least that gives them some credibility. I still won't be buying them though.

I've had all the Bonds since the DVDs, and I still haven't watch over half of them. I promised I'd get to them with the Bond 50, but still haven't made the plunge.

I just wish they would fix the mono track on Goldfinger, which fades out at the end, instead of playing the song out to the end.

Default How many times, why?

The packaging IS gorgeous, but the content is the same. Even if it weren't a few extra scraps isn't worth re-purchasing for the... I've lost count?!
The DVDs were by far the best presentation from menu to feature of any film I owned. And the extras were so robust and complete. So...

I will always be upset with the digital "covering up" of the bath scene in You Only Live Twice. Let film history mistakes be what they may... I think.

I wish they would get rid of the window boxing of the opening credits on some of them. It extends after the opening credits on Thunderball I believe.

The Skyfall, You Only Live Twice, Casino Royale, and Thunderball steelbooks are pretty, I may end up double dipping and getting them. But why oh why, did they not include Dr. No? It's a SPECTRE film after all. I love that film and I wouldn't hesitate to double dip if it meant we got a pretty steel. My best guess is that since the opening titles to the film are pretty bland there wasn't much to draw inspiration from, it probably would have been an ugly or uninspired design.

Apparently in addition to the volume collections and amazon ULTIMATE exclusive I featured in the first post of this thread, studio is also pushing a new line of single film blurays with new artwork. These solo releases will each include HD digital copy redemption as well (as seen marked in upper left corner of each title.)

New to bluray BOND buyers certainly have their choice of what option best suits their 007 fix.

I don't own any of these films so I'm very interested in the Ultimate edition set since the current Bond set eats up a little too much shelf-space... I'll definitely wait for it to go down in price first, though.

It's too bad they haven't remastered Goldeneye yet. The Bond 50 set still looks way more gorgeous than this re-issue.

Gotta admit though, some of those steelbooks look great, but pretty strange they only picked 9 titles. Would've been nice if they included Dalton and Brosnan.

I agree, I have the Bond 50 set but I may pick up a couple, keep the codes and give the discs to a friend.
