Last night I tried to play "Bed Time Stories" and other then the Disney promo at the first the player came up and said it had an internal error and would not load the movie. I then installed the Memorex FW and then the movie played with no problem other then a long total black load time but eventually it loaded. Any idea if you could take the files from the Memorex FW and combined them with the good files from the Olevia that keeps the front buttons and display working then burn them together to make a new better Olevia FW? Wish there was a way to get this to play dts master out the 5.1 analogs also!

Come on BlurayChance, you always try things you shouldn't!
![]() I'm guessing the Memorex FW still will not decode dts Master and put out the analog 5.1? Does it stream dts master out the HDMI? I need a new receiver just hate to give up my current Pioneer that I love so much! |

I tried reverting back to the Olevia firmware and it won't do it! BlurayChance did you get yours to go back? I may be stuck with the Memorex, oh well it plays more discs so I guess that is what matters. My wife will not be happy with it when I set this up on her TV when I replace this with a player with one that will do dts HD Master through the 5.1 analogs! Oh well I guess! Watched Quarantine last night, great True HD track!

I have tried 3 different CDR's, at first it would act as if it was doing the upgrade but would not change it. Now it states on all 3 that it is not a Firmware Upgrade Disc. Not sure whats going on with it. Oh well, I need to replace this soon, it seems 90% of all new Blu releases are dts Master so I gotta git a new player! It frustrates me to not be listening to HD audio when the tracks are on the disc! I have been a fan of DVD-A and SACD and now have loved the PCM and True HD! |

I'm hoping someone here has some advice for me. I received this blu ray player last Christmas as a present. Admittedly, I don't often play blu ray discs in it, but recently I bought The Dark Knight. When I put it in, it starts and gets about 6 seconds into the first trailer, the screen goes blank except for a white spinning disc icon in the middle. Thinking this was a problem with the disc, I exchange it for a new one but the exact same thing happened.
I tried putting the firmware update on a CD - four times - but none of them worked. I'm not even sure if updating it will help. I submitted a case on the olevia support site last week, but I haven't heard anything back still. Does anyone have any advice? My boyfriend feels horrible for giving me a gift that doesn't work perfectly and I would really love to be able to fix it. ![]() |

Yes, there are several "Loading" icons. 5 min is along time but I have had one movie can't recall the one that took a long time. Usually if its a no play disc it will come up and say disc error or something like that! Theres gotta be someone here that has played that batman movie, I just did not care for it myself! Read through this thread about creating and running the FW disc!

Been playing around with my 110 with using the 5.1 analog out, Knowing that the Olevia does not put out dts HD Master out the analog output I would always switch to my Receivers Auto decoding for the dts Master discs so I cant take advantage of 7.1 over the standard dts 5.1 I would get out the preouts. But last night I was comparing all my dts HD master discs switching between my Auto decoding and the Multi Channel In and found the Multi Channel in to sound much better. Do you think with the Memorex Firmware I am running I have installed a dts HD Master decoder? I even compared Top Gun which has Dolby Tru HD and dts HD Master and the Dts Master sounded better just as I read on most Top Gun Reviews! I have also compared Transformers (Tru HD) to the 2nd Transformers dts Master and found the sound quality to be pretty close over all.
Any other way I could tell if I'm truly listening to dts or dts HD Master through the Pre Outs? |

There seem to be lots of problems with this player and no support for it since January 2009. Some guy on Craigslist is selling one for $70 (I would have talked him down to $60), but even at that price, it doesn't seem to be worth the hassle. What do owners of this player think?

I'm still using mine and for the most part pretty happy with it. But I am using the Memorex firmware because I did run into a couple Bluray discs the Olivia V2 firmware would not play. I have found to my surprise the 5.1 analog out's of the Olivia sounds better then my Pioneers vsx1015 on board DD/dts decoding! I may never know but I think the Memorex firmware installed the dts Master decoder, all I know is when playing a dts Master disc it sounds as good as any True HD track. Other then slow loading and a little sluggish compared to my other Bluray player I'm over all pretty happy. The only other player I would replace it with is the LG or Oppo that have the onboard decoding of the HD audio formats with 5.1/7.1 out!

My Olevia played Avatar but every chapter the time line comes up for a few seconds! Kind of annoying! Also had a couple audio and even picture drop/black outs!
I'm still using the Memorex Firmware! |

I am kind of bummed as time goes on, more and more blu rays aren't going to play in this player I got him. Also, I think he said Sherlock Holmes wouldn't play. |

It's now getting to be an old player, if he needs a new player that $78 Magnavox at Walmart is one of the best! My Olevia is now retiring to the bedroom!

In the firmware instructions it says to "slowly push the cdrom closed" do that....do not press the enter to close the drive. After about a minute press enter to select "yes" to update firmware and it start the process. It drove me nuts too.
It worked for me. also to get the files on a disc just copied the files to a CD and did not burn a image.... Thanks I hope this helps... MattyPee |

Hey everyone....well Clash of the Titans and BATMAN/SUPERMAN:Apocalypse both did not play on the Olevia blu ray player....the trailers played, but when it time to get to the main screen the movie blacks out....but the sound works!, Weird.....any suggestions anyone? Because it seems there is no Firmwre upgrade anymore for this player, as it looks like it will be getting old.....is there another firmware I can use? Like a memorex? or should I just get a more known player? Shame, because this has been a great player for me until these 2 movies did not play, who knows what else will not play if this is not upgraded...any help would be greatly appreciated!
