Alphabetical, regardless of sequel. I.e., Dark Knight in Ds, Quantum of Solace in Qs. Potters and Rambos and Pirates, chronologically. Box sets also alphabetical.

I have them all organized by Studio, and then by their spines. Then, if there are groups of movies that are similar ( ie the Saw Movies by Lionsgate, or all of the Stanley Kubrick movies released by Warner ), they are grouped together.

There are, of course, exceptions. All my steebooks are grouped together at the bottom of my shelf, reguardless of their studio ( All the James Bond's are organized by their chronoligical release date ), and the TV series are grouped together.

Alphabetically for me as well. Dark Knight is in the D's for me.

The only things I've been listing off of spines are my Criterion DVD's and my Dragon Dynasty DVD's. My Criterion blurays I just put alphabetically for now since there aren't that many to put by spine yet.

OCD nice. Similar to mine, but I have a hybrid system: Best to less- Right to left. Sequels grouped. Concerts separate.

so- not similar, but no less strict.

I like to keep mine together by the shape/thickness. So Digi's together, the Blus with slip covers etc.

Alphabetically. It's easier than categorizing them by genre or favorites -- I always know where to find a certain title.

Blu-ray Movies #-Z

Blu-ray Warner Bros. Digibooks #-Z

Blu-ray Criterion #-z

Blu-ray Documentaries #-Z

Blu-ray TV #-Z

in that order on my shelf, same way I do dvds.
edit - except I have no digibook dvds, and I also have my favorite director dvds separated from the rest as well as boxed sets. don't have enough blu boxed sets to make that resonable yet... actually I have none

I have mine in 3 sections:

Collection(Boxed Sets): a-z
digibooks: a-z
Pixar Animation: a-z
BD with Slipcases: a-z
BD with OUT slipcase: a-z

All sequels go with the corresponding predecessor regardless of name.
