I have all my Blu's and Dvd's together, organized numerical/alpha with a few exceptions. Example: All of the Planet of the Apes are together, all the Batman's are together, etc. The other exception is animation. All of the Disney and other animation is in a different location so the grandkids know where to look and know to leave the other disks alone! I also have all of my disks on DVD Profiler. I recommend it highly.

Firstly I sort mine by series like firefly and serenity or all the batmans together. Once the series is sorted out then I organise by studio for single releases like all sony movies together and then all fox movies together.

I have a shelving unit separated into three sections.

DVD
Blu-Ray
TV Box Sets

The DVD's are organized by genre.

The Blu-Ray's are organized by alphabetical order.

TV Box Sets are also in alphabetical order.

My dvd's are in a wall cabinet. I have about 300 or so. They are in no particular order mostly by size.

My Blu's are alphabetical in a smaller rack next to the tv but like Roy Scheider in Jaws "I'm gonna need a bigger rack" soon

all my blu-rays are alphabetized on a small shelf (i only have about 25). my regular dvd's (including tv shows) are alphabetized in 2 binders (too many for just one). the tv shows are all together in one of the binders and grouped together. all of the regular dvd cases are on a bookshelf in no particular order. when i have a more "permanent" residence, i'm going to drop the dvd binders and just use a big media storage unit. blu-rays and dvds will still be separated.

I keep my shelves seperated by Blu-ray, dvd, ps3 games. I have the Blu-ray's in alphabetical order but keep all prequels/sequels together. I used to have them all seperated by genre and am thinking of doing that again. I like to change things up every so often.

I have my DVDs and BDs in separate cabinets. The DVDs are just in the cabinet in any order. The BDs are by company. All my WB titles in one group, all Sony in another, etc..

I still don't have enough Blurays to make an organization out of the pack.
Well so far I've put the animations together, the Harry Potter together and so on.

I have my dvds and blu-rays split up. Then I have it by numerical and then alphabetical (if it has sequels...then the order of the sequel). The tv shows I'd have seperate from all of them. I'd combine the tv shows w/ dvd and blu-ray being as most seasons aren't all available in blu-ray. I recently contemplated how to arrange the james bond movies by I went with 007 and the the order of when they were made.

my blu rays and my dvds are split up. blu rays are at the top of my shelf, and my dvds start right after my last blu ray. i arrange both in alphabetical order. just makes it easier if i send my gf to pick a movie, since she might not know that firefly and serenity are tied together, and batman begins and the dark knight are together. just makes it easier overall

First my Blu Ray's and DVD are in differant drawers.

Each drawer has two rows. One side has movies pertaining to the US, or something the US is up against. For example Black Hawk Down is in this row.

The other row are movies that the US really has no part in, such as Kingdom of Heaven. It also has fantasies like The Dark Night.

Both rows are arranged in alphabetical order.

Numerical numbers such as 3:10 to Yuma are last. With lower numbers first.

Last edited by Disco; 01-03-2009 at 11:37 PM. Reason: added numerical...

Blu first stating numarically so 28 Days Later is first, then alphabetical if not in the same series. IE Batman Begins and Dark Knight together. TV shows at the end alpabetically
