Also Special Editions (including digibooks, although the only one I have right now it's The Exorcist) go with boxsets (pretty much everything that's not a normal BD case).
I do this, to an extent, as well.

My collection goes like this:

-Sets/bigger cases/steelbooks/clear cases (so here is Life, Bourne Collection, Strangelove digibook, RE steelbook, Band of Brothers)

-All slipcover blu-rays, sorted by studio

-Rest of blu-rays, sorted alphabetically

-Concerts

-TV Shows (sorted by studio)

I've finally bought enough TV stuff that I've separated them from my movies. Now I have TV shows alphabetically then movies alphabetically divided by a slim DVD case turned on its side.

BDs first:
Anime - Alphabetical
Movies - Alphabetical
PS3 Games - Alphabetical

Followed by DVDs:
Movies - Alphabetical
Anime - Alphabetical

Not sure why I do it this way. Just kind of the way it ended up as I expand my BD collection.

With only about 100 BD's I have them sitting on 2 shelves, not in ay order, with so few it is still easy to find a title, Several hundred dvd's sit in boxes unused and unseen for a long time...waiting for me to decide which ones will be rebought on BD

Used to be very strict alphabetical. Got 3 Planet of the Apes BDs today, put them next to the first. May even move Fistful of Dollars and For a few Dolaars more to after Good, Bad & Ugly.

Alphabetically with Digibooks and Box Sets kept separate but also alphabetized, too. Maybe one day in the not too distant future I will separate my Blu-Ray movie collection into Studio releases, but by Genre would be too difficult as some movies tend to belong to two or more sub-genres... and not everyone can agree upon which is the dominant genre represented. My Blu-Ray Collection is more like a Library anyway.

I organize my collection basically the same, Alphabetically, putting sequels next to each other and TV shows together.

Alphabetically unless it doesnt fit like a box/gift set like Planet of the Apes. I give that a spot of it's own

I have all my blu-rays in alphabetical order (with the common exceptions like The Dark Knight filled under "B" for Batman, and anything that has "The" in the title filed under the second word, ie "Expendables, The"). That takes up my first three shelves, below that I have all my games alphabetical by system (PS3, PS2, PS1, Xbox 360, Xbox, Wii, Gamecube) Then on the bottom shelve I have the few remaining DVDs I own (Star Wars, Dune, Children of Dune, Superman Box set). I only have room for a few more before I have to upgrade my shelves!!!!

I also have an Access Database that I designed to track my Multimedia Collection. I can use it to sort by Director or Production Company etc. Also helps to remember if I loaned a game or movie to a buddy, I can just enter their name and the date they borrowed it.

I have 3 separate sections each done alphabetically.

1. Blu Ray Feature films (or basically everything that doesn't fall in categories 2 and 3)
2. Anime (I alphabetically order all Anime in order whether they be blu or dvd)
3. Tv series (same as category 2 ordering)

Slipcovers, box sets, digibooks, and slip boxes are alphabetized by studio then by title. The rest of my collection is alphabetized in leather binders to save space. Examples below:

Alphabetically within seperate Blu Ray and DVD sections. Christian Bale, Robert Downey Jr, Edward Norton and TV shows have their own individual shelf space.

Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/AMERICAN-COVER...0738955&sr=8-3

I have owned many binders over the years for optical discs and these are by far the best I have ever bought.
