Yes but english is not my native language so I often prefer having english subs anyway

And for the japanese dialogs they are necessary if I recall correctly.

Just an update for those that thought the Criterion BBS set was going OOP, they are in bsckorder status now but will be producing more.

It's not OOP. I ordered Zatoichi during Criterion's flash sale, but I got an email today telling me that my order was cancelled because they oversold it but that they were printing more and would have more in stock in 2 or 3 months. So not out of print, just unavailable while more stock is printed.

That's really nice of them.

I also ordered Zatoichi during that Flash Sale, but I happened to be checking my email when the sale notification arrived, so I put in an order within an hour and a half (couldn't put it in earlier because the site kept crashing from overload). I got my box today -- it's a very classy set! Highly impressed.

I also wanted to order the BBS box, but it was already out of stock, I think before the flash sale had even begun.

So glad to hear that Zatoichi isn't OOP. That would've been a nightmare on the secondary market. Come to think of it, Criterion never gave any notice that it was going OOP, so we shouldn't have assumed.

Interesting. So the website (below) that lists whether Blu-rays and DVD's are OOP or not, is wrong and not a fully reliable source of information.

I've known of that website for several years and it has always been horribly outdated. I think it is just one person maintaining it. This thread that we all post to is updated regularly with input from the user community.
