Worth getting the UK disc too for some exclusive interviews and My Amityville Horror documentary.

Discussed on the UK boards, some Artificial Eye titles seem to be going OOP.

With all these Scream/Shout titles going OOP, is this a worldwide thing? Or does it only affect US distribution?

Shout only releases in the US and Canada, so it only affects those countries. Other companies have licensed these titles in other countries, and their deals and in-stock statuses are entirely separate.

I was clicking on links to check out titles I wasn't familiar with. Under Etiquette Pictures, the title "Hands Upon Nothing" should actually be "Hangs Upon Nothing." Nitpicking.

Between Scream, Kino and Twilight Time's troubles, this thread is going to be very busy. I think we are going to be seeing a lot of titles getting their last physical release......ever.

Edit: Here is 2 more....https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...ostcount=66050
Thank you for the updates. I really need to check this thread every day. There's a lot I would like to own, but the prices are getting up there now on ebay. I'll have to be content with my DVD copies of some of these movies.

What troubles are Scream, Kino and Twilight Time having?

I keep waiting for a Scream sale like they did their first couple years or the one Amazon had in 2016. The sales strategy of keeping everything at full MSRP until it goes OOP is frustrating.

One of the founders of Twilight Time passed away, and Fox (one of their main sources of good quality) merged with Disney and supposedly put a moratorium on new licensing, that effects all labels presumably not just Twilight Time, but it probably hurts Twilight time more than most since most of their best releases were when they were focusing on Sony + Fox titles and getting lots of new 4K scans from those guys.

Not sure what "issues" Scream and Kino are having other than just probably having too many licensed titles in print and a need to pare back. Though with Scream playing a bunch of games with MSRP pricing and such, maybe there's more to it.

It's just reached that stage in the formats life cycle where earlier releases start going OOP, that's all.

I don't even think that's necessarily it, these labels (Kino in particular, but also Scream to an extent) have been cranking out titles feverishly in the last couple of years. Maybe some of that was in a rush to get them out before the format dies, so its' fair to say it was not meant to last or that it is part of the format's life cycle.

Kino used to be a label that focused mostly on silents and obscure cinema, and for years on blu-ray they probably didn't even average 1 release a month. Then all of a sudden they crank out literally hundreds in just a few years.

They probably learned from the dvd life cycle, and figured you have about five years in a formats life before sales start dropping off as people grow tired and move into new interests etc. So best to pump them out while the goings good. Online piracy helped to reduce the dvd market as well though.

It is insane the amount of releases we have from all the labels in the last 5 years though, I agree. I think it just splits the bucks and all the labels will sell less overall as a result.

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like Scream and Kino are having troubles. They are just going to stop printing certain titles due to them being low sellers or contracts expiring. The Kino titles could be around for years but the Scream titles are dropping like flies. Twilight Time may be restructuring or even closing down, no one really knows, or they may become like Olive and release a couple of titles a year....

If you want to get a good deal on Scream titles head over to Target.com. They are having a buy 2 get one free sale. Their Scream title prices are about the same as the Shout/scream website and they have quite a few of their titles to choose from. I've preordered quite a few Scream titles there....
