Possibly. That's a lot of work. Unless it's bootlegs on demand and they just put a number. It's also sad because feedback is no help because a lot of people aren't smart enough to know it's bootleg. Hell, at that same store I worked at, we would have people come in trying to sell bootlegs to us, I'd assume unknowing to them. Usually military folks. I'd tell them I can't take it because it's a bootleg. They seem surprised and ask how I can tell. I end up telling them how I can tell, which is the same way anyone with a lick of smarts can tell. Shitty art, blue/purple bottoms, etc. Even if it's a burned disc with stuff written on with a Sharpie, people still seem baffled they have a bootleg. I can also tell it's not someone just trying to play stupid.
They could also be those Chinese or other foreign knockoffs and they're just using stock pictures. Saw plenty of those as well. |

I'm not sure what the speculation is about. I bought a set and they are pressed discs. The seller could just as easily be somebody that buys stuff on the cheap that distributors are looking to clear out and then re-sells them for a profit like Hamiltonbooks. If they were looking to just make money on OOP stuff, they would be better off just selling the third season by itself for a high price.

Good call. Forgot to mention that as well. At that point, there may be no way to know by looking, unless you know what the legit copies look like. Legit releases can have bad quality art as well, so can't always go by that. Usually the Chinese ones have bottoms that learn more toward gold colored (DVDs), but not always. Haven't seen Chinese blus because the zombies don't buy blus. It's a shame there's so much human scum on this planet that make life harder for decent people.

I can't say with 100% certainty that they're out there, because I've never bought one, but I have seen widespread reports of bootlegged "Game of Thrones" blus being sold on ebay. (Others too, but that specific one was by far the most commonly mentioned.)

Do the Chinese bootleggers waste time and money making counterfeit slipboxes for their counterfeit BDs of cancelled TV show seasons that can be bought for $11 new on Amazon?

You seem to be inferring that Chinese bootleggers only sell their wares on ebay, which is incorrect. Chinese bootleggers produce their bootlegged goods primarily to sell in China. A smaller subset of these bootleggers also sell them on ebay, but even with them, it's unlikely to be their primary source of bootlegging income. So they don't produce goods based solely on what will sell on ebay. |

Hellbound said that he bought a set from this seller and that "they actually are legit copies", so I think it would be nice to move on. Everyone made his point. Both are valid.
In this case, however, it seems those are legit copies ![]() |

This was an MOD BD, but it looks like they've stopped producing it:
![]() I have to say it's no great loss. The compression was APPALLING, and it was only 25gb, so any dark or dimly lit scenes looked like a swarm of pixels. I keep meaning to pick up the UK disc hoping it's at least slightly better than this atrocity. I own nearly 1000 BDs, and it's the most distractingly ugly one of the all. |

Amazon returns are easy if I ordered these as I was missing Season 3. They arrived via In the same cases that I just saw in a local shop. Scans show same specs as those listed online. No misspelling, paper is good quality, ink on discs is quality. No issues. If theyre fake, I cant find a flaw. Even has inner ring numbers/letters match what I found in shop and my prior copy of S1. My post was deleted in the piracy thread some time ago. Can bootlegs match those inner ring numbers? |
