Hence why this reprint part of the annoucement was updated with a revised text for fear that people might misinterpret it (which was the case obviously as we could read complaints on various social medias already).

Plus, on a side note, I don't think there's any chance Disney would renew any previous contracts and let SAE reprint anything without asking tons of money (even more than what Fox asked for in the first place, as a matter of fact).

Anyway, even if I'm misleading on that part, it makes more sense that, what they call "reprint", would only concern the titles for which TT didn't already print the full 3000 copies run yet from the existing signed contracts.

Yeah, it's possible Twilight Time had some "options" contracts to renew titles, or even titles that were never announced. But I doubt severely SAE would do anything new, and Disney might try to not even honor them anyway or give them access to decent elements. Maybe Sony or MGM would be more forgiving though.

Certainly this wouldn't be for any titles that were long OOP and out of the 3 year window - which would be the most desirable ones, but not a likely possibility. Most likely it is just for what you suggest (getting the rest of the 3000 pressed, so some of the titles just recently OOP might not actually be fully sold out yet).

MGM terminated their relationship with TT due to turning down several required titles part of packages that ether had no HD masters, or MGM only had really poor ones they refused to put out. TT, like Olive Films, didn't have the resources to pay for new transfers on the titles had SD masters or really shitty 1080i ones, and typically relied for the licencor a suitable HD master one or wait for them to create a new one. Add to the fact that TT did Encore Editions of some titles, that MGM didn't initially agree to in the licence for 3000, units didn't help matters in them burning bridges.

Sony seems more forgiving, since they sometimes allow two different competing label to release the same title they got in a package.

I would pay $1 for Torque if it ever showed up at Dollar Tree, not spending $15 on it. $5 max. It's an ok movie but makes Ford Vs Ferrari look like Citizen Kane.

That's all that I want/need. I was wondering if anyone knew if there's anything here that won't go oop, or I got wrong as far as Fox titles go. I want to make sure I put the stuff up front that will go oop soonest. Thanks very much.

I have a feeling Disney is letting all of the FOX labeled copies run out, and then are going to reprint them (hopefully), and then they are going to slap the Disney logo all over them.

Maybe yes, maybe no.

(1) What they are all-but-guaranteed to do is add the magic castle logo to the front of the film. Most likely, it'll be in addition to the opening studio logo instead of a replacement for it, but that will be TBD.

(2) I would like to think that they'd leave the TCF logo (and fanfare) intact, though I suspect that they'll create a new version of the logo to remove the word "Fox". If you watch any of the WDA features that were originally distributed by RKO, they don't replace the RKO mentions with "Disney". They don't have the "bleeping radio tower" RKO logo at the beginning, but I don't know if they ever did on the Disney films (I'm old, but not that old).

I'm a big motorcycle guy, worked in dealers for over 20 years, blah blah blah, and I remember watching this and Biker Boyz in the theater with friends. No idea. I saw the film when it was first released back in the 80s. I have no desire to see it again.
