Re: Criterion Paramounts
Just picked up ROSEMARY'S BABY and DON'T LOOK NOW blus from a local Barnes & Noble this weekend, and ordered NASHVILLE (BD+DVD Combo Digipak) from an online retailer. So they are still out there, if you look (and get lucky). Now I just need to find HAROLD AND MAUDE... (had the others, including LA DOLCE VITA in the Fellini set). |

I bought about 15-20 Fox titles not long after the sale to Disney went through, and another 15-20 last year, when supplies started drying up as the pandemic started. I check on some of the ones I bought now and then. It's obviously impossible to know with 100% certainty which are no longer being produced, since Disney took foxconnect.com down, but I think most (if not all) Fox catalog titles are OOP and there's just some limited stock remaining at various retailers. Many of the titles I bought are completely unavailable new from Amazon and other retailers anymore, but there are still sometimes new copies and usually used copies available from third-party sellers. Only the rarer titles seem to have completely and entirely dried up. That said, unless Disney announces reissues for whole waves of catalog titles, which seems unlikely, I think pretty much all Fox catalog titles are limited to whatever stock was out there a year or two ago. For huge hits like Black Swan, etc, there will always be copies available, just because so many were produced and purchased and have now become unwanted, as the mass market abandons physical media, but some obscure titles (especially classic films) have vanished completely. |
