Good deal. That's about how much the film is worth.

Nonsense. It's a very entertaining pulpy superhero movie that hearkens back to vintage serials and unlike many such films, pays respectable homage to its source material. I agree it's not worth scalper prices, virtually no OOP title is, but as a fun pastime, THE PHANTOM is certainly worth more than $5. I think he got a very good deal on it, your apparent ridicule notwithstanding.

Thank you Professor! Although Goofnut's comment made me laugh, I agree it's vintage serial feel, set design & cinematography are all top notch. Not to mention Billy Zane's charm! It was so fun to see it in HD recently, I think if people gave it another shot they might change their minds about it. It reminded me of Indiana Jones, just more family friendly. IMO this was an excellent find.

I suppose we will have to agree to disagree then.

Navy Seals is out of print it appears. Only available through 3rd party on multiple sites.

Hmm, to get the blu-ray cover in the post do you all attach the picture as a file or is there a fancy URL you can put in?

If Dragon's Lair and Space Ace are on the list, we can also add Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp. That one is the rarest of the three Don Bluth BD/game releases.

Roger Ebert gave it 3.5 out of 4 stars. I'll take his opinion over yours: http://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/the-phantom-1996.

Do you agree with every critic 100 percent of the time? Just because you don't agree with them doesn't mean they are "wrong". Blue Velvet is a divisive film that turned off a lot of people when it first came out and Lynch is still not a director for everyone.

That said I don't agree with Roger on The Phantom. Makes you wonder what was being served at the press junket. Its really a stilted bore that's horribly cast and SHOULD have been good.

It was good. Everyone's opinion is subjective. Even the critics. We could go on for pages, but I think we're off-topic. Time to get back on point?
