It's been out of print for a long time. Being reissued sometime with additional footage.

This is the first I've heard of additional footage, but I'm not surprised - the editing always felt choppy, like scenes were missing.

I wrote about the movie a few years ago on my site: http://www.silverscreensurprises.com...eath-ship.html

You can still buy Phase One through the Disney Movie Club for $200, saw it there the other day.

Thanks, didn't realize that. I hadn't thought about this movie for close to 30 years until someone on a podcast was talking about it.

No official announcement but it's in the Scorpion thread on here. Walt mentioned it a long time ago.

Sometimes things get announced or speculated about but never end up happening. It would be great if there was a re-issue with the additional footage but if someone who really wants the film comes across it, they should grab it and not wait for something that might never be.

Well considering Walt still mentions it but just without it not having a definite release date I'd imagine it's definitely happening. He renewed his license and it's getting a fresh 2K scan.

Then of course, if noone wants to pay the extra for an OOP version there are Australian and German alternatives as well but I'm personally waiting for the new one.

I just got a factory sealed with security strip on the top copy of the original 1978 Dawn Of The Dead Blu Ray. I was pretty excited about that. It was the only one missing from my "Dead" collection.

Reasonably priced? I bought a used one a little while back in like new condition for less than ten dollars.

The price was not to bad, I put down $28.00. So it was pretty much the same as buying a Scream Factory or Vestron movie for me, price wise. I'm just happy to finally have it again.

That's definitely a fair price. Congrats on the purchase. I'd have done the same thing.
