Even if the US 4K of Groundhog Day goes OOP - the 4K disc is the same worldwide (as far as I can tell). You can buy the UK release and get the exact same disc. So no need to worry too much.

Very true, but the only way to get the BD with the same transfer is buying it individually from JP.

Groundhog Day got an updated transfer for the BD when the UHD came out? If I'm understanding correctly.

Negative. The BD from JP from a few years ago used the newer 4K scan that was used for the UHD. Sony just got lazy and used the same BD from 2009, which uses an antiquated scan. I own it and actually put it with the UHD.

No, sir. The UHD of Mayhem utilizes a 2K upscale and has no HDR.

It was even part of Sony's "mastered in 4k" series if I'm correct.

Series which had several exclusive releases in Japan such as this one, by the way.

I don't think this release is OOP as it's back in stock on amazon and deep discount. Most retailers might just have been low on stock at the time.

Groundhog Day 4k is available from Bullmoose.com. I was just able to order one and it still shows as in stock.

Still giving the shipping in 1-2 months on the "from Amazon" version and my order from Jan 7th says the same.
