If you're open to B&W westerns (especially if you like film noir too), Man of the West is one of the best westerns ever. Still can't believe this one's on the chopping block.

If you like Robert Altman, Thieves Like Us is a very underrated movie.

While I don't doubt that the actual Kino titles are going OOP, there are some Code Red and Scorpion titles there (House on Sorority Row, Grizzly) that I have been hearing are going OOP for years now, and just refuse to believe anymore. It really makes my blood boil to know I plopped down $30+ for House 5 ****ing years ago when Walt was saying "we found a few more copies, when these are gone, so are your chances of getting it", and now it's still on Kino's site for $9.99.

I will never believe anything about titles going OOP from either Olsen brother, or their companies. Been burned too many times by their BS.

Both companies have great releases, but they have kind of have used dirty marketing tactics with artificial demand/false sense of urgency. Vinegar Syndrome appears to be very transparent with their way of doing it to give a different example. Ideally, all limited editions should probably just be individually numbered on the case.

It's a bit of a different situation with Kino...

They have said they won't be reprinting any of these movies but they'll remain in stock until they run out. They are also subject to having their prices further lowered until they do sell out.

I'm sure some that I bought when the sale was first introduced are now lower, but since I usually have trouble meeting the free shipping threshold as it is, I am not going to concern myself too much with minimal price differences.

Hope so. Didn’t get a chance to get that one back in the new collection.

They have been doing many other Sony titles recently, although is this movie even that popular? I'm cool either way, I like it just enough to own/keep it, since I found the BD for $2 in 2012. Although it's tempting to see if I can 10X my money.

It looks like Vacancy might be joining it in OOP and candidate for Scream status, although that one is still pretty cheap on ebay (new and used) and Amazon (used). Also got that for a 2 dollar bill.

A number of Scream releases aren’t that popular.

They have to release something. 😁

For me, Noir is hit-or-miss.

Never seen an Altman film (I know, I know -- always been meaning to), is this a good one to start with?

Altman is...something special. A true maverick who stood out among all the other mavericks of the 70s. His most accessible film is probably M*A*S*H* and even then who knows how you will react to that. I'll let the folks over at the BFI help steer you in the right direction. Personally, I love the guy. He was a genius. A mad genius.

Helix Season 2 (Sony) seems to be getting scarce with no amazon sold listing and Best Buy, Deep discount, Target, Walmart and B&N don’t have listings. eBay is even skimpy. Seems like I didn’t really see that one much in stores. Helix season 1 is still under 10$ but not available at many places.
Rollerball (2002) (Sony Europe) release seems to be getting harder to come by. In February I couldn’t get any retailer to have a listing, only 3rd party.

This is one title that can’t disappear fast enough.

I was letdown by it.

It’s sort of an unfocused movie that doesn’t really go anywhere.

The Amazon listing for the Helix season 2 blu-ray still exists and still has listings available for sale

Sold by private sellers through amazon, not amazon itself. Apologies for my wording.

No worries! I get you now I’m actually glad you brought it up. Took the plunge and bought both seasons on blu-ray from Amazon while they’re still decently priced. eBay really is scarce for season 2

Update:
Got up to 3 titles, but only $29.97 and that raised the shipping to $10, can't do it cuz of pricipalities. Only one title is a real want, the other 2 are interesting looking things I might've seen on cable in the 90's, so they would be gambles. One title = $8 shipping, F that. I have the dvd and a bid in for less than that total on ebay. If that bid gets crushed, I'll tackle it.
Really sucks I can't go check the local used store (so sad it is singular now) if they might have it.
Man, still got outbid, so I went to Kino after all. For 50 cents more (or less had one more bid won me the ebay auction) I got a new copy instead of a like new one, and from the company, not someone else. Really painful to pay $8 shipping for a disc on sale for $.8.99, but...
I can't find it online for less than $20, sans the auction that ended last night.

River's Edge was my high want. Loved this movie ever since seeing it in the late 80's after the VHS came out. I could've been nearly any of the dudes in it, and I was listening to all that same heavy metal music at the time, wearing the denim vest over the leather jacket, smoking weed, drinking, hanging with shady friends, etc. It's just always stuck with me.
