I'd pick it up if you have any interest in it, it's gone gone, like most HBO catalog titles. It's been removed from the listings at wbshop.com

One crazy listing on ebay, but none have sold for over $24 in the last few months there. All between $3 and $22.54, but someone paying over $20 for one with library stickers all over the cover is WTF-land.
Wonder how much my copy with the original half-slip is worth?

I had no idea they made a movie about Sarah Palin - much less one with my queen Julianne Moore and Woody. Is it any good? Do they try to make it funny or is it straightforward?

It's about Sarah Palin when she was the VP candidate during the 2008 campaign, based on the book, which first revealed juicy tidbits about Palin that subsequently became well-known -- her lack of knowledge about basic international facts, the expensive wardrobe etc. Harrelson plays Steve Schmidt, who's the POV character, and Sarah Paulson plays Nicolle Wallace, who became Palin's handler when they discovered she needed coaching. Has a generally light, sometimes satirical tone -- above average HBO movie.

This review is spot on. I enjoyed the film when it came out, but can't see myself revisiting it. Every time I see Nicolle Wallace or Steve Schmidt on the news I can't not think of this movie (please excuse the double negative).

Default Classic Hitchcock (1934-1940)

Criterion's "Classic Hitchcock (1934-1940)" is OOP. Just the box set -- the individual titles are still in print.

Anyone know why they’re going OOP? Wonder if I should finally snag a Blu-ray copy of the John Adams miniseries (which I was an extra in as a kid).

I dunno any of these political movies that come out around some particular candidate during their election are almost instantly outdated after the election is over. At least thats how I've felt about any i bought. Feels like a bit of a waste of cash.

I suspect they just don't sell well, and that they're looking to transition to focusing on streaming.

Most of HBO's current titles don't get BDs anymore, they only get MOD DVDs from Warner Archive, like The Plot Against America.

Only juggernaut cultural events like Chernobyl and Big Little Lies get BDs.

I would definitely buy any HBO titles you want, they seem to be drying up.

I collect Soderbergh discs, and all his recent HBO home video titles - Mosaic, The Knick and Behind the Candelabra, are OOP.

I have an ancient 2004 DVD for Elephant, which I got for like $3 on Amazon. It has a French region B-locked Blu-ray (which looks to be OOP), but no US release. No way that's ever coming out here.

Even Big Little Lies Season 2's Blu-ray was a WAC release instead of WHV like Season 1. Bad Education also got sent to WAC for Blu-ray. Definitely better than nothing though.

really disappointed that McMillions never had a release. I am guessing The Vow won't make it to Blu either. Damn shame.

I meant more miniseries and TV movies, their continuing series seem to have a slightly better chance of getting a BD, but only slightly

While it is true about the dating, despite seeing this 3 times (my wife loves it, I don't dislike it) I never put together Nicolle Wallace being her handler. That's some next level viewing shit right there. I still think of Woody whenever Smitty comes on any network though.

It does feel pretty ****ing tame compared to current politics right now though.

I've read the news recently about 20th Century Fox being bought by Disney and titles of the former thus probably being dicontinued on Blu-ray (OOP, I guess?).
After that I was going through my wishlist on Amazon and checking which titles are from 20th Century Fox.

Those are the titles of interest for now:
Titanic
Alita: Battle Angel (not sure if I want to buy it)
I Am Legend
I, Robot
Gone Girl
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Maze Runner (1)
The Fault in Our Stars

They are all available for normal prices, although "I Am Legend" and "I, Robot" are a bit higher than normal (~10€ here) and occassionally out of stock since some time.

Which ones would would you say to prioritize buying and which ones are not likely to be unavailable soon (enough supply, re-relase likely without waiting for years)?

They're all recent and financially sucessful, so I'd imagine there will always be some stock floating around, especially if you're willing to buy used or second-hand.

Also, Titanic is a Paramount title in the US, so it'll always be available here if you ever need to import it.

I have the 3D sets of Titanic and I, Robot, both with really nice slipcovers. If you have any use at all for 3D, I would go after those now. Even if not, they are nice and have the same Blu-ray discs anyways.

Gone Girl, there are a ton of used copies right now.... I would try to find a mint one now and snag it while it is dirt cheap

The Fault in our Stars.... take your sweet time. Not much demand for that one.

Get the 4K of I am Legend right now. I can see that one drying up and going for big $$

Isn't "I am Legend" a Warner release? If so I don't see that one going OOP anytime soon.
