I didn't want the triple because I already have two of those movies in the F13 set, and I hate those triples in general anyway, so I wound up getting the Nightmare steelbook on ebay, which is for some reason like half the price of the normal single release. (Not a fan of steelbooks either, but it's not wort paying twice as much to avoid em.) |

I could see Lionsgate now doing a new 4K Transfer on UHD it I think they could fix the issues their last transfer had. but this edition I would not lose sleep over. The Criterion BLU looks way better than this one. It has blown out whites, I recall a shot when Rip Torn is leaving college and the brick wall out in the day time looked out with the sunlight... white out for sure. It was odd. Sold it off as soon as I could. I still have my Criterion BLU with the original case and also got their Plastic style case they offered for those first bulk of BLU titles when they did the open top bottom flimsy style cases. |

People do not like paying more for a movie. They do it because they want the movie and weren't lucky enough to snag it when it was in print. Because most people aren't operating on a straight timeline where they're always aware of what's coming out when, and they always know what they want before it's released. Which is a preposterous expectation. It's not like people seek out scalpers and say "I like what this guy's doing, I'm gonna make sure to give him my hard-earned cash." The only other option in those scenarios is to just not buy the movie at all. But then they're just punishing themselves for something someone else is doing. People like you like to pretend that if everyone just rises up and says no, all scalpers will go away. Even you can't be so naive as to believe that's actually possible. What you're doing is just casting blame on as many people as possible to make yourself feel better for missing out on this or that. |

Personally...if I miss on something, I'll buy it in the scalper, third party, reseller market. It is what it is...supply and demand.

Scalpers serve their purpose. Like you say, supply and demand. Hell, I've been prompted to sell a few because I noticed they were going for high prices just based on this thread. If I could only get $2 like a normal blu-ray I surely wouldn't bother, and thus it would not be available to those who want it, but if some random blu-ray I barely care about due to scarcity is $100 then maybe I pay attention and move it off my shelf. I've had a few instances where I sold a title at a premium, then got a much better edition for like $10. Did I feel bad? No. I thank the buyer for the free upgrade. ![]() |

Every one after a long time waiting and with a DVD alternative on my shelf, I've just put my money down for a used very good Blu that I have wanted for a very long time. I paid about 18 Euros with tax and delivery, about 2 hours of legal min. I/ we shall see how truthful the description is in about 2 weeks. The laugh out loud part is, I used a french site where the exact same seller charges half what they charge on a uk site. Before any one pipes up 'import charges' the invoice includes sales tax, time will tell of course. At least 2 years ago this would have cost me $Us 70 plus tax and shipping. Here and now on Amazon usa $36 plus tax and shipping.

I'm sort of under the impression that things look OOP right now, but it's possibly due to production issues due to the pandemic. I've seen a number of movies skyrocket due to resellers, only to come back to regular retailers at MSRP eventually. And an instant edit, but I put in an order just because I remembered this movie. It said it wouldn't be in stock until May, but now my order is saying it will be delivered Friday. Shipped and sold by Amazon, so it's not some marketplace order. But it is obvious that people are paying attention to Amazon listings, not distributor listings, and dashing off to ebay accordingly. I saw more than a few Criterion movies seemingly vanish from Amazon, were still available on the Criterion site, and were shooting up on ebay. |

And I noticed the same thing with some Criterion titles. OOS on Amazon, and sky high prices on Ebay and Marketplace, but Criterion still sells it. |

Justice League 3D (theatrical Joss Whedon cut) appears to be OOP. Sold out everywhere and it’s starting to command a high price.
I suspect with the Snyder Cut now universally considered the superior version of Justice League, that WB will stop distribution of the Theatrical Cut and replace it completely with the Snyder Cut for ALL future home video releases moving forward. Something similar to LucasFilm with the Star Wars Trilogy— only Special Edition, no original theatrical editions. |

The 3D release probably went OOP because studios in the US don't care 3D releases anymore. Very few films are being released in Blu-Ray 3D today. And Warner Bros basicially want to bury the Snyderverse. The only reason they released the Snyder Cut was because they want a "Mandalorian"-type hit for HBO Max. |
