Yea. I was just confused why the link I found on google didn't include it, but then the other one did. Very odd. No matter. Ill be ordering a copy as well. I'm also going to bookmark the link houseca provided since that one seems to be more reliable

Vol. 1 and Vol. 4 are still there, but no sign of 2 or 3 any longer. It's been like this for three weeks now.
Technically I believe those were Cohen Media releases, not sure what that means. Didnt' even realize they were selling those on the Kino site, guess there is/was some sort of partnership or agreement? Volume 1 for example is the Cohen Media release which is 4K of the General and Steamboat Bill, whereas Kino's new release combined as The General and The Three Ages (I believe from a 2K remaster), and there is another Kino release of Steamboat Bill and College (again, from Lobster films 2K remaster).

Cohen Volume 2 was Sherlock Jr. and The Navigator, I don't believe Kino released their own new improved restoration of those (which presumably also would have come from Lobster films)? So maybe this is just a matter of their own release coming out or some sort of repackaging. Maybe a box set rather than the random double features they had been doing.

Kino Lorber is now acting as distributor for Cohen Media, both for existing titles and newer titles going forward. Prior to Kino taking over, Entertainment One was Cohen's distributor. Not sure what happened -- I suppose we can blame Covid -- but it doesn't appear that there were any Cohen releases through EOne after Women Make Film came out at the beginning of May 2020, until Kino started distributing in December with Buster Keaton v4.

Kino is only acting as distributor. Cohen still makes all of the decisions regarding what titles to release, and their production.

Anyway, as to the question at hand, it looks as if Volume 1 is currently on back-order at Kino's site. Hazarding a guess, I'd say that existing supplies of v2 and v3 -- along with v1 now -- are sold out until more copies can get pressed. They may well also be making changes to the back cover to reflect the change of distributors, and possibly giving them a new catalog number (the current Kino-distributed titles have the usual Kino catalog number on the bottom of the spine of "Knnnnn".

Wow. I sure am glad I nabbed both Mystery Men and Osterman Weekend (despite it's blue tint).

It wasn't good, but it is the best we have and probably the best we will ever get. It has a great "making of" documentary (likely ported over from the DVD) and it is a very underrated movie IMHO.

This sucks because I love this movie but got the German BD steelbook and forgot to get the USA BD. At least there are import releases still available like the 88 films BD just put out in the UK.

I hope this means Universal might eventually be doing a UHD or a rerelease of some kind.

It needs a complete remaster. The Universal transfer (which is the same everywhere) is so flawed and ugly, it hurts.

I believe the "best" release sporting the same DNR'd mess but with better encode (and less DNR) is still the japanese Blu-ray 'though... but it's also OOP (and exclusive to Japan which made it very difficult to get shipped to the rest of the world)

The Japanese release also had the director's cut. I wasn't all that impressed with the Japanese release's picture quality either though.

Agree with that. I saw this edition several years back, and it looked pretty awful. Not that this is an A list title to me, but I see a lot of far weaker films get much better treatment.

Planet Terror and Death Proof appear to be OOP.

I didn’t see them listed.

The reason to get the combined version is for the mock trailers between the movies, which aren't included with the unrated versions.

And honestly, a lot of people seem to prefer that version over the two unrated/extended versions.

I find it impossible to believe any QT film is going to stay OOP. Even one that is considered lower tier like Death Proof.
