Interesting about 1492: Conquest Of Paradise going OOP maybe Paramount has plans for a 4K remaster BD or UHD. They never did release the BD themselves.

Paramount never even released a DVD though, that's why KL was able to pick it up for their BD.

I expect Paramount has zero plans for that title, though, as always, I'd love to be wrong.

I think I remember KLI mentioning the "1492" Blu didn't sell that well. They're most likely blowing them out to get rid of the unsold stock and cut any losses.

Yeah I kind of expect they won't do anything with it.

Low sales because there is already import versions and it has a dated master on it. Obviously not a huge catalogue title but it's to bad it didn't sell better for them. Paramount likely has sales figures for it so that doesn't bode well for a 4K remaster or UHD. Such a shame because it's a really good movie and deserves so much better but it's a Columbus movie and for most people it's yawn. Hoping though for a digital 4K remaster at the very least.

I don't think Paramount has the original elements that would presumably be needed for a remaster like that anyway. Gaumont probably has them, and used them for their remaster, which seemed to lack any of the theatrical color timing and instead seemed to have been re-timed by Kermit the Frog.

Found a used copy of Disney WOW: World of Wonder at HPB for $13.50 with the Visions: Inspired by Nature disc. These seem to be going for premium $.

According to a previous thread, yeah along with 20th Century Fox titles as well as Miramax so I figured I’d ask to see if anyone knows more about this.

Fox titles went out of print due to Disney buying the library but a fair amount have shown back up. Miramax titles have bounced around a few times and are currently at Paramount as that license seems to change hands every few years... (Scream Factory may in fact have the license to many of the titles if we're lucky). What Lionsgate titles are you referring to that have gone out of print? Thus far there really hasn't been any indication that their titles have gone out of print at any more sudden of a rate than the average title from any other distributor.

I should’ve worded what I meant better, my apologies. I read in a previous thread on here to that those specific brands where phasing out tons of their physical media releases and to buy what you can before they’re gone so I was worried that all of Vestron’s old Collectors Series titles were among them since Lionsgate was mentioned among Fox, Miramax, etc

There's no truth to any of that that I can see.

Lionsgate is not phasing out physical media, it is releasing as much as ever. Lionsgate did lose licensing rights to the Miramax catalog, so the Lionsgate versions of those did go out of print, but specifically because of that licensing issue, not some Lionsgate trend away from physical media.

Miramax is now with Paramount, who has already reissued a great many of those Miramax titles on Blu-ray and is likely to continue. Paramount has been extremely supportive of physical media lately, dipping into its own catalog at an unprecedented rate as well.

For Fox, people were freaking out because Disney was buying Fox, but Disney has been reprinting a great many Fox releases, so I'm of the opinion that those fears have not come to fruition. There are some older Fox releases that are now out of print, but that's true of all studios. For the titles popular enough to justify reprints, Disney has seemed to oblige - more and more Fox titles keep getting added to their DMC movie club, I've seen replenishment of Fox titles at various online retailers, and I've personally confirmed that there actually is new stock being manufactured for a couple dozen titles (Fox used one manufacturer while Disney uses a different one, so it's trivial to see if a certain copy was manufactured before or after the Disney/Fox merger).
