Yeah I ordered it from them the other day (although even their sale price is around $8 more than what others were charging) so I’m wondering if Shout! is selling off what they have on hand / it’s OOP or they’re just waiting for a repress. I’m seeing it on eBay selling for $89.95.

In between pressings. It's not on the list of titles about to go, or recently have gone, OOP. Maybe some retailers aren't bothering to re-order as it probably wasn't a huge seller. Ebay is a funny thing, for titles that really are OOP, they are often less than Amazon or other sites. For titles that aren't really OOP but currently out of stock on other sites, prices go insane.

Thanks for this info! I’m also thinking the new Elvis movie (the one currently in theaters) might have spiked demand enough for the retailers to sell out… can’t imagine Amazon etc. keeping a big amount of these in inventory so it probably didn’t take too many orders to deplete their on-hand stock.

Regardless glad I finally ordered it - it’s been on my ‘want’ list for far too long.

Actually it's probably selling like gangbusters because of the new Elvis movie.

Y'all may have a point. I had forgot about the new movie. Still, I would think that would spike actual Elvis films (ones he is in) more than this.

I keep thinking of upgrading my dvd of this, then I remember, I watched the dvd only once and just wasn't grooving on it at all. Nothing about it says Carpenter to me. I was so hyped when that dvd came out too, another JC/KR outing, it had to be awesome. It just wasn't.

I can't believe I have never heard of Kurt Russell's Elvis till now. Really like his acting and It just slipped on by me for whatever reason. Watched the trailer and he nailed it looks good. John Carpenter also directed so I ordered the BD. Now I know why in 3000 Miles To Graceland he was so convincing as Elvis, lol.

I agree with other posters it's likely not OOP but sold out due to the new Elvis movie and Shout has tons of them obviously.

Not surprised since it was added to Disney + not terribly long ago.

Although I could argue that bootlegs going OOP is more of a statement than real discs. I have no idea what that statement is, but it's something.

Exactly how does that happen? How could anyone determine a bootleg is OOP? Anyone at any time could just reprint more since they are always "on demand".

My house got flooded yesterday and destroyed all my equipment so sadly the blu-rays of Song of the South, The Abyss and True Lies are now OOP.

Depends if its a BD-R or a factory pressed disc. The latter are of a finite number and usually a limited run. In my view, if the title is listed on this website then the print status is relevant to this thread.

Bootlegs going OOP that is a good laugh. I guess Joe Shmoe decided to press the OOP button.

MOD BD-R by actual studios aren't actual bootlegs they are legit. MOD BD-R sold by Joe Shmoe is.

I've always wondered if the factory MOD BD-Rs could actually go out-of-print.
Yes, the studio can physically make as many copies as they want but certain titles may only be licensed to allow a limited number of copies to be produced and sold.

Not exactly "big studio" or big movie, but this MOD BD-R came and went. Can't even find a copy right now, although it looks like one sold for $10 on ebay late May (too bad I haven't been looking, I'd do that deal!). Kind of wish I had grabbed it as this movie is a lot of fun IMO, but wasn't paying the $25 or so it cost when in print since I have the dvd already and it was BD-R.
I would also guess it has a print run of maybe 100.

You leave Joe Shmo out of this. He's a good guy.
