I have the exact same problems.. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.. Just glad to hear I'm not the only one

Yeah, I've been having issues with both of my PS3s. I thought it might my issue so I spent all day yesterday trying different things with the router, PS3s, etc. Nothing helped. While most games seem okay once I get logged in, I think it has been causing a lot of issues with GT5. I'm constantly getting connection to the server errors (ID=2:0). Oh, another strange thing is that I also had issues signing in on the Playstation site from my computer. The first attempt showed an internet connection error box where the sign-in box should be but the 2nd attempt worked. On the PS3, it usually takes around 2-3 attempts (occasionally more) before I get logged in. Internet access through the PS3 browser works just fine even if the sign-in fails. Anyway...

Edit: Oh, I'm using wireless with both of mine and I'm on the east coast. The error code I'm getting is 80710092.

I sent an e-mail support request to Sony today and they said the following:

Quote:
We apologize for any inconvenience, but we may have been experiencing problems with our Game Server(s) during the timeframe in which you were attempting to log into them. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and if we have not already resolved the problem, we hope to do so as soon as possible.

Please attempt to log-in again. If you need further assistance, please call our Consumer Services Department at (800) 345-7669. Our representatives are available to assist you Monday through Saturday 6:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., and Sunday 7:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Pacific Standard Time.
Still report it though in case they think it's fixed (while it's not). It wasn't fixed for me late last night and I think it pretty much started after the DOS attack so it has been happening to me for more than a day or two although it seems to be happening more now than it was initially.

No probs w/ PSN here. Wired in brewtown. Although, I have had trouble recently trying to squad up w/ my friend playin KZ3, but that may have more to do w/ our connections (cable from U-verse here, DSL connection on her end).

Rumored to be some sort of AT&T routing issue. Some people have reported success using different DNS addresses (Google's: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4), but I suspect that Sony itself is having an issue.

Either way, I don't know for sure if that's the issue. Just passing along what I'd heard.

Just as another data point, a friend of mine (he lives around 5-7 minutes from me) who has the same ISP hasn't had any problems while of course, I have. I was hoping it was more widespread than that since it would probably get fixed quicker. As of early this morning (3am), I was still having issues but didn't try it before leaving for work this morning to see what the status was.

Also, when I started getting the ID=2:0 error in GT5 (it worked fine for the first 1.5 hours) I quit the game and started trying stuff to see what would work and wouldn't work. I was logged in still and the PSN store worked fine but Home didn't. Home gave me the same network error that I usually get when trying to login for the first time. Maybe it tries to login as part of the process or something. Anyway, I logged out and then tried to log back in and it took me around 8 tries before I was able to login again. I logged back out and then it worked for the next 2 times I tried it.

Every time I turn my PS3 on it says that it can't sign me in. Then I have to do it again and then it works.

I noticed it too, usually after a blu-ray movie. I've had to try to login 2 or 3 times.

Has anyone tried alternate DNS servers? When I thought it was just me having the issue, I searched around for a while and found articles mentioning to try that (like a post above mentioned). Since all the articles I found were from 2 years (or more) ago, I didn't try it, thinking it was for a different issue. I may try the google ones listed in this thread to see how that goes. Just curious if anyone has already tried that and if so, how it went.

Great, it has gone from bad to worse. Now I can't login at all. Now I'm getting a 80710102 (DNS error).

Do you set that in the router or just the PS3? I tried just setting those DNS addresses in the PS3 setup and I couldn't connect to anything after that so I'm guessing I need to do it in the router also?
