After changing the DNS servers from automatic to the google public ones, I couldn't do anything. Even connecting to the internet wasn't working BUT apparently, all I had to do was restart the PS3 (although I restarted the router also but don't think that did it). After shutting the PS3 down and bringing it back up, the google DNS servers have been working. I'm logging in the first time every time now. Finally!
Thanks for the tip Sponge-worthy! Edit: lacubs, without using google's public DNS servers, yeah, usually trying to login 2 or 3 times usually worked. That is, until today when I tried it and couldn't login at all (for whatever reason). I'll just go with the public DNS servers for now I guess. Last edited by owa; 04-19-2011 at 10:12 PM. |

Looks like I spoke too soon. While I'm getting signed in the first time every time when using the google DNS servers, other stuff isn't working. I'm getting the ID=2:0 error immediately in GT5, Vudu fails with a needing to sign in error and Home fails with a network error. The store seems to work and accessing the web through the browser still seems to work. Oh well...
Edit: At least it is back to working with the normal failing the first time but after that working okay for a little while. Last edited by owa; 04-19-2011 at 11:09 PM. |

Pathetic I couldn't even play the game last night. The PSN problem as a whole this weekend has been garbage. |

Has anyone called yet to see what they say? This is really getting annoying. The e-mail support hasn't really helped at all so I guess I'll try calling today. I left the PS3 on last night just downloading a couple of trailers that should have taken 30 minutes max only to find the PS3 still on this morning and only about 25% done on the one that didn't complete.
Results from last night, Portal 2 seemed to work fine no matter what. It took me forever to get Mortal Kombat's online code activated though and once I did, things worked for a little while (I was just looking around, not planning on playing any multiplayer) before it had issues. Tried Home a few times, never was able to connect. I was able to connect to Vudu once I got logged in to PSN but after a while, even if it shows that I'm still logged in, it's like the PSN connection is really down, can't download from the store, can't access Vudu, downloads in progress stop, etc. but trophies always seem to be able to sync. |

Called the support number and they said the Playstation Network is down and has been since last Thursday. Basically, he said it's a crapshoot as to whether it works for someone or not and he was aware of issues like mine where I can sometimes get logged in and things will work for a while but then it stops working. He said they're working on the issue but they haven't been given a timeframe for when it'll be resolved yet.

Sorry about the trouble you fellas are having.
I did notice when I went to the Playstation website that it was down for maintenance. I still haven't experienced any issues with logins, trophy syncs, or any of the games as far as going online (MW2, BlOps, GT5). One of the times where Comcast doesn't screw up for me, so go figger ![]() <Runs to other room to knock on wooden practice sword> Ummm...Snake...what iTrophies app? Link? http://itrophies.wordpress.com/ It cost $2.99 i think from the app store but is kickass (recent PSN issues have caused the app to be down with the network obviously). It shows your recent trophies, trophy level, compare with friends, all your games, and it even shows which friend is online and what they're playing. It has a youtube feature that supposedly when you go to a trophy you're missing, the youtube link would show you how to get the trophy. It's pretty inaccurate though as you're sometimes sent to videos that have nothing to do with the trophy itself. Overall it's a cool way to see when your friends are on and what they're playing, as well as all your own info. |

So yeah for the past 3 days, everytime I turn on the ps3, I'm automatically logged out, and it takes me several tries to connect to PSN, sometimes it signs of me off automatically and today it wouldn't let me log in at all which is silly because my internet is totally fine. Any ideas? New error going on PSN?

Yeah with all the anonymous stuff going on it seems they have taken PSN down to do some maintenance. Some rumors going around that just before it came down the PS Store had been hacked and everything was free but not sure how accurate that is. Sony seem to be trying to keep a cover on the situation and are not being totally open about what has been going on for a few weeks and not just this latest issue.
