My friend said he can't even sign into his Netflix without first signing into his PSN. I told him he should be able to, but he said he couldn't. I don't have Netflix, so couldn't argue with him further.
He is wrong though I take it? |

No, but honestly, I couldn't care less about it.
My PS3 is now only for watching Blu-rays, gaming is on Xbox 360. ![]() |

I've signed in twice now. It will ask you to sign into the PSN, but if you just keep hitting OK it will eventually let you in.

I'm surprised Sony hasn't already. History has proven that, should they do something like this, the fans will inevitably explode with rage - but the majority will still pay for it, thus rendering all their bluster as just that. I've already been amazed at how many are willing to pay for Playstation Plus. I know Sony must be looking in envy at the estimated $600 million the Xbox rakes in with subscription fees.

This could get ugly...
PlayStation Network Down: Will Sony Face Class-Action Lawsuit? By James Brightman PlayStation Network exists for two purposes: one is online play, and the other is acquisition of new content through downloads. Imagine you just bought SOCOM 4 (and maybe even a PS3 for the first time to go with it), you took it home and discovered you couldn't play multiplayer (a top reason for buying any shooter nowadays). Or what if PSN being breached let a hacker access your credit card info? Those issues could potentially lead to a class-action suit, argues one analyst. Speaking to IndustryGamers, M2 Research's Billy Pidgeon commented, "This isn't good for Sony, obviously. The network infrastructure needs to be redone for security and service, and SCEA should have the best resources available working on the system. I don't believe there is any confirmation on consumer data access - I hope this is not the case. The sooner the network is up and running, the better." "There will be negatives for Sony, including possible class action suits, but if this is a DoS attack (and it looks like it is) then the hacker community's reputation is going to take a big hit on the consumer side. Hackers believe they can grief corporate targets without impunity, but when they grief the public they are going to lose any and all populist sympathy." As for the hackers, it's still unclear exactly who is responsible for this major outage. The infamous Anonymous group insists that they had nothing to do with it, and at the same time they took advantage of the opportunity to mock Sony for being "incompetent." http://www.businessinsider.com/plays...lawsuit-2011-4 |

This is indeed not good for Sony, and they have yet to make a statement, I mean how hard can it be, don't put us in the dark like this.

Every page with this question and every page with the answer.
Yes Netflix works !!!! I've been watching it off and on for the past 4 days and have not been booted off of it once. 1. Turn on your PS3. 2. Choose Netflix under the Video section on your PS3. 3. When it starts to load Your PSN sign in screen will come up. 4. Click Sign In. 5. It will say Playstation Network is currently undergoing maintenance. 6. Press the O (back button) 7. The Netflix load screen will come back up (Red Screen with Netflix on it ) 8. Your PSN Sign In will pop back up ( But behind it you can see Netflix and your queue) 9. Press enter to Sign In to your PSN again. 10.The PSN Sign In screen will go away. 11. Netflix is now opened and taking center stage for you to watch it 12. Pick a movie you want to watch By the way I'm watching Netflix right now. Last edited by 1blufan; 04-26-2011 at 01:50 PM. |

They've had 6 days to find out what happened.....They know what happened.... This wouldn't be so bad if they would talk to their customers. That's the truth. While I don't support a class-action suit at this time, Sony is hurting themselves by not talking to it's customers. If they would just talk to us, I think everything would be okay. Remember, Sony tried to pacify people by saying a day or two to fix this problem. |

Sony is clearly in CYA mode, "cover your ass" mode for non-corporate people. Sony has always been one of the worst companies for transparency and openness, that is just the way they operate. The outage is doing massive damage to their brand and the attractiveness of the PS3 as a viable gaming platform.
