I'm expecting to do that, except I wouldn't throw out the disc. You never know!
Truthfully I do not know

I don't know why people are giving this guy a hard time. The way I look at it--sometimes I'm in the mood for something like Bucky Larson, and sometimes I'm in the mood for something like Drive. There's no reason to make somebody feel bad about what they wanna watch.

I'm just trying to understand why someone would feel compelled to watch a movie like Bucky Larson or Jack and Jill. I can't even watch the trailers without banging my head against the wall :P

Probably won't be out until 2014.

The book (Driven) will be out "at the earliest" April 2012. and then they have to film the movie, get the script, etc. etc.

Plus Gosling has at least 2 huge films he is already signed on for filming in 2012/2013. I hope they wait until he is ready. I would be furious if they did a sequel without him.

Bucky Larson was the shit! Just kidding, I haven't seen it.

The New York Times review said it was so bad that it may be the worst movie Pauly Shore has ever been in. Now that's bad

Anyway, there is a difference between stupid movies and bad movies. I enjoy plenty of stupid movies. Step Brothers was stupid but I thought it was funny, while Grown Ups was just a really bad movie.

That kind of makes me sad in that they may ruin a good thing. As an individual piece of film work I think it stands well on it's own.

It would be like making a sequel to Pulp Fiction or some other cult classic. I can't find any reason to make a second movie, but Hollywood will be Hollywood, which is about making megabucks.

I hope this one sticks to pen and paper and the bookshelfs rather than the big screen.

This. This does NOT need a sequel in my book, and my instinctive reaction was one of dread. They had better tread carefully.

It also destroys any ambiguity as to whether or not
[Show spoiler]Driver dies.
I don't think he did but some people do.

Agreed. Definitely a major component of my sequel dread.

The director confirmed that he
[Show spoiler]does survive
and the reasoning for that was so that "he could
[Show spoiler]live on for new adventures.

Gosling also had it in his contract to choose the director, I'm sure that applies to sequels as well. It wasn't a massive Hollywood hit so I'd expect the same kind of film from Nicholas the next time around.

Can't wait for this! I heard some people saying it was "boring", but I could not disagree more! By far the best movie of the year, and I don't see anything topping it. Day 1 for sure!

The sequel was already being created before the film was completed anyways.

A sequel is really bad idea. To me it is not worth ruining the legacy of this film just to see the Driver ride again. You're almost sure to be disappointed with a sequel. Off hand, The Empire Strikes Back and The Dark Knight are the only sequels I can think of that UNdoubtedly surpassed the first. There could be a couple others (I'm sure the trolls with let me know), but it is definitely the exception to the rule.

This troll says (arguably) The Two Towers and Return of the King. And the Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum.

But I agree with you, a sequel to Drive is the stupidest idea in the history of stupid ideas.

Best Action movie? Hmm...I really wouldn't have considered this action, but I guess it makes sense.

I don't consider it one. It was marketed as one, but it's more of a crime thriller.
