or this slightly modified one:

Cheers

Yep, French release is a stickerbook by all accounts. And after that revelation the UK HMV exclusive SteelBook sold out within the day. So I expect stupidly high prices to start poping up on eBay for the HMV exclusive. Glad I ordered mine last November.

Basicly a blank steelbook with the front and back art is just a laminated sticker rather than actually painted on to the steel.

Example:

Every time I see someone trying to sell/trade that on the forums they never include that it's a stickerbook. I asked one member in the thread if it was a stickerbook and he confirmed but didn't change it.

Anyone seen the Drive screenshots posted in this thread?

Last screenshot is the worst of the bunch:

What poor PQ. If these shots are representative of the retail disc, I'll be disappointed.

I compared a couple shots to a 2gb DVD screener .mp4 I downloaded, and that PQ looks pretty good to me. Not stunning, no, but the picture is brighter with the full color palette being more apparent and more accurate (especially the blue end of the color spectrum).

I completely disagree. Rampant compression artifacts are present in most of the shots, especially that last one (just look at the sky). Very little definition and a lot of detail looks scrubbed. I hope those shots posted are from a poorly compressed rip (in which case the poster should have put a disclaimer to avoid misguidance), if it's the final product I'll steer clear. But I find it hard to belive that Sony is going to produce such rubbish from a recent film.

I didn't catch this in theaters, so I am not sure what this film's intended look is/how it was presented theatrically. But I note that it was a low-budget film with several shots filmed in low lighting/at night and/or via handheld cameras (e.g., the opening sequence in the car). With all these things in mind, the picture looks about what I expected.

When I compared that final shot of the parking garage at night to my DVD screener copy a few minutes ago, I noted that my copy was significantly darker and had a much more black-and-white look to it. The bluish/greenish lighting didn't really have any color to it in my copy; only Gosling's silhouette had a dark brownish tint. I can't find that same shot in the movie now, though...

All the screenshots I saw look fine. You are really bickering about one screenshot. Another screenshot scientist, you would fit in perfectly at avs. Head over there please. I'm so sick of people that get all worked up over a screenshot. It is not and never will be that deep. Wait until the diskc comes out watch it and then critique. Until then stop it.

No, all of them. Screenshot scientist? Feel free to voice your opinion on the shots like I did (you think they are fine, I don't) but don't go calling people names and belittle them.

Here are some shots that look 10x better. Now this is something to look forward to.

Screenshots haters and alike, I put them in a spoiler. Don't click on it. You probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference from the previous ones, anyway.

Perhaps I just don't put that much stock in screenshots unless it's for something like color palette, since they've been frequently misleading and really not representative of the way the disc looks when I watch it.

the original screenshots that crs posted do look pretty poor, like they are from a scene 1080p rip online (there is a widespread 1080p rip online that is only 7.64GB, which of course would mean a lot of compromises had to have been made in quality).

The new ones crs posted look a lot more like what I expect from the BD. Sony is handling this and they almost never screw up their transfers.

Screenshots do give an indication of picture quality, even more so from a scene without much movement. They just have to come from the original source and captured without any additional processing. I'm sure blu-ray.com doesn't post 20+ screenshots in their reviews just for fun.
